As in Classical music? Tchaikovsky can get pretty dark.

There's a whole host of depressive material from a wide variety of genres I could throw your way as well. You might be interested in Woven Hand, the music is pretty emotional and some of the lyrics are religious.

I suggest looking up some dark ambient musicians, then.

Can't help with classical music much, but I can recommend Darkwave for some more modern music (considering I love Darkwave)

Check out Bows + Arrows, I enjoyed the album quite a bit... I haven't listened to it in quite some time though, so it may not be quite as good as I remember.

I wish The Walkmen had opened for Dino Jr when I saw them. Instead I got Pink Mountaintops, who absolutely sucked live. Maybe it was just in comparison to Dinosaur Jr, but I didn't enjoy their set at all... Makes me wish Black Mountain had opened instead, because that would have been awesome.

I posted this in the Indie/Alt thread:

The only disappointing part of it was that J seemed either tired, sick, or both. I expected him to live up to the whole slacker thing, but it seemed a bit worse than that. He still played and sang perfectly though. Lou was the most intense and awesome bass player I've ever seen live, claiming that spot from Rudy Sarzo when I saw him with Blue Oyster Cult.

I guess you missed my post. It was the easily the best show I've been to this year, taking the #1 spot away from Japandroids.
