How is Dan Fogelberg?
A few albums from your "presents an album a day" that you'd think I would find interest in.
since you like noise-rock, you should check out bodychoke's "cold river songs".
since you like reggae, you should check out wareika hill sound's "self titled".
since you like alt-rock, you should check out whipping boy's "submarine".
and for a mix of a lot of things you like, you should check out lowercase's "kill the lights".
I've got three band queries for those more knowledgeable than myself. I finally got around to picking up Husker Du's Zen Arcade (that album was nearly impossible to find around here) and I'm loving the hell out of it. My question is where should I go next with this band? What albums are highly recommended?
Next, I have Hootenanny by The Replacements and really enjoy it, but I understand that their later albums are considered more classic What should I look into next with them?
I also got Killing Joke's self-titled after it was recommended here months ago. Are any of their other albums worth looking into?
Thanks a bunch to anyone who can help.
For Husker Du, check out New Day Rising next for some more great stuff that's also on the noisy side. After that, go back to Candy Apple Grey and Flip Your Wig. They're really closer to pop albums than hardcore punk, but it's still some great stuff, actually emotional. Just don't expect anything as hardcore as Zen Arcade from any of those albums.
The average consumer will tell you that the absolute classic Replacements album is Let It Be, and it really is fantastic so pick that one up next. However, a lot of people around here will tell you that Tim is equally as good or better (which I'm on the verge of agreeing with.) Listen to that afterwards.
I imagine you probably liked the more alternative aspects of Zen Arcade, so I would recommend Candy Apple Grey or Flip Your Wig, but you can't really go wrong with any of their post Za/ pre-Warehouse material.
For the Replacements, definitely check out Let It Be and Tim. My personal favorite is Let It Be but I know a lot of people here prefer Tim.
