    I was mostly referring to how lightly I could hit the RB2 kit and get a response from the game. It seems strange to have to hit a more expensive piece of equipment harder to get the effect of hitting a cheaper(but still work great) piece of equipment, with silencers on them. Maybe, like the others on here I just need to get used to the new feel of them.

    Mine arrived today (after saving for 6 months for them). 40 minutes later, I was standing in shock at the broken pad during assembly. While hand-tightening the wingnut (and not hard, because I'd heard about possible problems) on the yellow pad, it snapped off from whatever holds it to the L-bar inside the pad. I unscrewed it to see what had happened, and it was obvious that the weld was bad. AND it was rusted on the tip, so we're talking about cruddy materials for certain.

    Fortunately, I bought it from Costco, so their unlimited return policy will go into effect tomorrow, but I did try to call ION to see what could be done.

    <paraphrased>
    <beep> Press 1 for returns. Press 2 for technical support. Press 3 for repairs.

    "3"

    Press 1 for returns. Press 2 for technical support. Press 3 for repairs.

    "3" and it repeated again. on that pass, I pressed 3 one more time and...

    "We're sorry you're having difficulty. Please try again later. <click>"

    So... after this overly-long post. Do I try again with a Drum Rocker? Maybe I just got a bad one, but it's VERY disappointing. Should I roll the dice a second time? I'm replacing RB1 pads and the RB2 set seems fine, but I've saved long and hard for this.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Thanks. Costco took it back no questions asked and a new one is on order. Wish me luck this time.

    You could have just used the bolt that the controller attaches to, and bought an eye bolt from a hardware store to hold the controller. That's what I did. The controller isn't nearly as heavy as the pads, and it's been holding steady for about 9 months. Yeah, you should still be able to get the replacement part, but now you have to wait. :(

    This is a know issue, the same thing happend to me with the blue pad, luckly Ion UK's service seems to be a little better then in the US they sent me a replacement part FOC right away. Basicly the weld on the eye bolts is crap.

    As for the oringinal post, you gotta give yourself a couple of weeks atleast not days to get used to the ions. Took me atleast that long, and longer before i was matching and beating my scores with the RB1 set. Maybe start with just the pads, then add the cymbals when your comftable with the pads. I found I naturally started to hit a fair bit harder since i had ions. If you playing a real set, the tap,tappy tecnique I used to use on the RB1 kit just wouldn't fly :cool:

    I got my ION drums a little over a week ago. I had a little bit of issues getting the yellow symbol to register correctly but keeping it slightly loose seems to help.

    But the main problem was the base pedal. After a few days, a rubber thing inside of the pedal fell out, then the pedal stops working and I see TAPE on the rubber thing and tape inside of the pedal. Then the flimsy flap that hits the computer chip falls off like nothing. It appears so flimsy and cheap. I used my regular RB2 pedal for 7-8 months daily before it wore out. And this ION pedal can't even last a week. Now tell me the irony in that.

    Navigation Isuies
    Am I the only one who cannot navigate the crossbar with the ions? The ps button functions but when the menu pops up I cannot navigate without using another controller first. Same with invites Cannot send using the ions have to use a contoller. Brain Problem?
