I can't make a new thread yet (dn why) but I have some issues with my drum rocker. The "down" command is going nuts, as in is constantly registering. I thought this might be because of one of the pads / cymbals / pedal is just tweaked so I unplugged all of the connecting cords to the module and it still does it! So I am thinking its the module. Has anyone else ran into this problem??

TLDR: IDR Module is constantly issuing the down command, like 100 times a min.

    HELP! thanks.

I've had a problem too, but nothing to do with getting used to the kit. I'm not sure if this is the brain of the Ion set malfunctioning, so if anybody has any idea please reply as soon as possible. Every time I hit the yellow, blue, or green drum pad it registers a hit for the red pad as well even though I am not hitting it all. I started playing Fortunate Son and immediately started to fail because every time I hit the yellow pad for the hi hat it was registering a hit for the snare. Also it does it with my cymbals too. It would be really helpful if anybody knew what this was.

does it register both or just the snare?
if it's both then the sensitivity for your red snare is messed up
if it's just the snare then it's probably the brain

I'm having problems with my Ion set too, but it has something to do with the pads. Every time I hit a yellow, blue, or green pad the game reads that I'm hitting the red pad as well, even thought I'm not. I have no idea what the hell the problem is, so if anybody knows what it could be please feel free to reply.

ION drum pads require very specific playing, in order to actually register what you are doing. I can't play them because I'm not Neil Peart.

Yeah it is both. Like if I hit only the yellow pad it registers that I hit both of them together. Do you think the jack that plugs into the pad is messed up?

I recently got my ion drum rocker. i had no problem with set up or anything like that. I was quickly playing flawless on expert not all songs but a few. Then lets say a week or two after I was only scoring half and registering very little ive tried re calibrating. I do play hard now on it. and ive heard this is bad for this set is it possible i have broke this already. seems like the guitar hero drum set was better lasted longer.. Im now an angry drummer pounding to get a proper response.. any suggestions. besides playing softer?? HELP??? how do I check for proper responses?? Calibration only works for one pad....

    Sounds like a defective module

I'm starting to have problems despite only playing my set for 3 weeks. Just over a week ago, the red snare pad started automatically hitting, even when I was hitting nothing on the set; there were some times when I would be halfway across the room with the song I was playing paused because I was getting some water when the pad would hit and take me out of the pause menu and back into the song when I was nowhere near the drumset. Over the past couple of days, more and more pads/cymbals are doing this.

I contacted ION's tech support regarding this matter, but they seemed to be full of something, and it was not knowledge about the set. First off, they told me that if I was using any carpeted surface (which I was for the bass pedals), to take it off because the carpet might be building up static electricity that was screwing up the set. I'm not positive on this, but every music store I went to said that the static issue doesn't happen with electric drumsets; even if this is true and ION knows about this issue, then why would they bother packing velcro for the bass pedals to put them on carpeted surfaces to begin with? After asking the tech staff if the problem could be the drum brain, they asked me when I bought it. I stated that I bought the set on March 19th (but I didn't take it out of the box until around three weeks ago due to being out of state for work), whereupon they simply told me that the warranty had expired and left the conversation at that while refusing any further contact.

If anyone else has had a similar tech issue and resolved it, please enlighten me.

I got the same bull**** from ION. They are terrible. Unfortunately, I went as far as replacing the brain twice and they both eventually developed the issue.
