    hey all!

i'm having problems with my ions as well. my drum pads seem to have ring-like zones on them where they either will or won't register hits.

the center will register a hit, but then there's a dead zone just outside of center, maybe about 1/3 thru the pad. outside of that is a ring that will register hits, but then the last inch or so at the edge of the pad is also dead again.

this is happening on my red and yellow pads for sure, not positive about the green/blue (i mostly notice it on the red one and did most of my testing there).

i tried swapping some cables around but that didn't change anything.

has anyone else had this? does this sound like a brain problem?

any help or suggestions would be great! i've stopped playing as much as i used to because missing all the notes that i am since switching to my ion's is killing me. all in all i like the size and setup of the ion's, but missing these notes is no fun.

    thanks!

Picked up an Ion kit today. Hooked it all up and things were going fine except the red pad was REALLY unresponsive. So I tried different cables. No change. Just tried using a different pad. No change. I'm pretty damn sure it's the brain just having some sort of short or not being sensitive enough. I have to REALLY whack the red pad to get a decent response. It also seems to get worse the longer I play. When I start it seems to work alright, but as I play for more than an hour or so, it's unplayable.

I am pretty sure it's a defective brain. My question now is - who should I contact and how long should I expect for this to get remedied?

Ion would probably prefer you contact them for defects, but if you got it locally, it'd probably be faster for you to exchange it for another one.

I just got my ION drums and they won't turn on. The guide button doesn't light up when I connect it to the 360.

Is there some special trick to getting them to turn on I don't know about?

Highly recommend these inexpensive mesh heads for the Drum Rocker. Definitely makes a difference...less noisy, more rebound and increased sensitivity...plus they look much cooler than the rubber pads. I upgraded a few weeks ago.
