I got my ION drums today at last and I was so nervous cause I live in Sweden and many have talked about problems with them and I can't just replace them if there was any problems but I can't find any problems yet. I have just played for maybe 30 min but they work great :). I also got a roland kd8 from my mom for christmas (yeah a little in advance I know) and I have a real kick pedal so now I'm just waiting for the kickbox to arrive. The kickpedal is already modified for rb so I can use it anyways but It will be awesome together with the kd8. Btw the kickpedal that came with the drumrocker really sucks. It looks great but the sound it makes when you use it is terrible and the tension is just to light I think so I never connected it to the drumrocker.

It takes a while to get use to the new setup though and to know when to hit the cymbal and hihat but that only demands practice :)

i dont think the issue is just with the ions only i know a few peoplee who have rb2 sets and this is happening to them as well. it started with the last patch that ruined velocity

Hmm but if it has something to do with the latest patch, shouldn't everyone have this problem? I do not have any disconnection problems at all, I have RB2 and the latest patch. The only thing is that I have never used the stock pedal that comes with the ION, I use a modified real kick pedal.

Any word on this yet? I just got my ions yesterday and I have the same issue. I can't even make it through a song. I think they would be a lot of fun to play if they worked.

    Disconnected Controller
I just got my ION yesterday and started having "disconnected controller" messages almost immediately. I could tell it definitely had something to do with the ION kick pedal. Fortunately I have an Omega pedal, so I got an 1/8" to 1/4" adapter and rocked out for almost six hours without any problems.

To everyone who have this disconnect problem. Can you please specify if you are using the stock pedal or not cause I can see a pattern that people who use the stock pedal get this problem. If you have the stock pedal for RB, RB1 or another 3rd party kick pedal, buy a converter and try that one and see if you get the same problem. It would be nice to solve this problem once and for all even though I don't have this problem (using a 3rd party kick pedal) I feel for you who have this problem and would be happy to see it solved. What the heck, I make a new thread just about this and a poll to see if this might be the problem. Please answer the poll and have a happy x-mas everyone :)

I'm using the stock pedal. I went ahead and boxed it back up and I'm getting a new one from amazon. Hopefully this one will work. I also tried the drums with RB1 becasue they never had the velocity sensitivity like RB2 but it still had the same disconnect issue. In addition to the disconnect issue the drums and cymbals were not as sensitive as I thought they would be. I looked at one of DavidSheck's videos and mine were nowhere near that sensitive. I had to give the cymbals a good rap to get it to work which made more noise and so on.

Judging by the previous posts I think I had defective control module so they're going back. The new ones will be here on Wednesday, just in time to rock out on Christmas.
