    i dig a lot of older hip-hop, though i really seem to have lost touch with it sometime in the mid-90's.

    i still enjoy a handful of current artists (outkast is one of my faves), but even a lot of the so-called "intelligent hip-hop" does nothing for me.

    Mid-90s was really when it started to veer away from the original movement, and although I do enjoy Alt. Hip Hop, I'm happier with my 80s Public Enemy, and my early 90s artists. Even Will Smith.

    As bad as the lyrics were; the 90s had the miami bass subgenre/movement, which I really like personally.

    Also, remember when Fergie pissed herself on stage? That made me chuckle.

    Mos Def is an awesome Hip Hop artist, good lyricist too.

    REALLY good actor too.

    I like Baile Funk, it's heavily influenced by the whole Miami Bass movement, and probably just as bad lyrically, but I don't speak Portugese.

    Early Black Eyed Peas
    Outcast
    Early Kanye West
    Mos Def
    Common
    Public Enemy
    Flobots
    I love all of these hip hop bands. The reason I said "early" Kany West", is because now he has gone down the dark path of the auto tuner...

    I don't listen to it as much, but I think...a year ago? I was really into;

    Lupe Fiasco, Fort Minor, Eminem, and a few others.

    Buut... Hastings has Nas' Illmatic for like $6 I might buy, haha
