    Child-safe hard rock/prog rock/metal songs?
My 9-year-old cousin wants to start listening to some of the stuff I listen to, but much of my playlist isn't exactly child-safe, so it might stir up something with his parents. So, what hard rock/prog rock/metal songs that are child-friendly do you recommend?

Some good Prog. Rock suggestions (that are kid friendly):

Emerson, Lake, And Palmer - Emerson, Lake, And Palmer
    Yes - The Yes Album
    Focus - Moving Waves
Spock's Beard - Day For Night
Jethro Tull - Minstrel In The Gallery
and two of the most important:
    Frank Zappa - Apostrophe (')
The Moody Blues - Days Of Future Passed

That should get your l9-year old cousin started on Prog. :)

Rush is relatively safe, I'd say

    Rush has nothing offensive.

Dream Theater's Octavarium and Images and Words is safe I believe.

    Yes is safe, as well.

Closer - Nine Inch Nails (Kidding, don't use that)

    But Rush is very safe.

The majority of Power Metal bands. Bands like Blind Guardian, Dragonforce (lol, but he'll like it), Gamma Ray, and Sonata Arctia are some of the safer and more "fantastical" ones.
