Well, I hope everyone enjoyed themselves a little too much last night. I'd imagine, what with all the beers and cheesesteak fries flying around. Oh, and ice, musn't forget the ice. About the only complaint I have about that place is that there aren't enough tall things to stand on top of.

Also, I WARNED YOU ABOUT STAIRS BRO!!!! I TOLD YOU DOG!

Great impromtu Rock Band Night last night. Too bad it was only a couple of hours. The place was a little small but not a bad place to hang out. Would have been better if they had my damn funnel cake and/or calamari ! Whatta you guys/gals think?

Well the DU area is a very good idea and finals are over for a lot of schools, so it's kinda like an untapped market at the moment. I'm not sure if they're regular crowd was that into it though, I remember the bar being full when I stepped in and the whole front end was gone before we left (correlative factor could be associated). I guess the gist I get is the bar was a little bit more adult, people who may have never learned to appreciate video game awesomeness. In contrast, you did see some people singing along to more secular songs (that is why I tried to keep my metal to a minimum).

Not a bad night for being impromptu however. I think with the proper marketing it could be a good thing, but I kinda felt that it was a little bit of an older crowd than we are used to playing for/with.

Did they really have Calamari on the menu? Maybe I wasn't looking that hard??????

OH S****! It's Jeff! Watch out for flying cans! or stage divers! or mic stands! Or fists of rage!

DVD collection wise (kind of have been lazy in updating)

    Game collection wise

CD wise I'm too lazy to catalog. Comic book wise I'm easily over 10,000 (counting trade paperbacks, hardcovers, graphic novels, etc.) Nate can attest to seeing my nerdy collection of things (including action figures, but that's another story). Though now I hear me collecting comics are getting people giddy in collecting scraps of what I have. Specifically some of my X-Men comics...

Also note I have about two full long boxes of X-Men alone (what, about 600 or 700 total?) if I ever get around to looking through and seeing what I can part with.

    And Green Day Rock Band...

    ...

**** you Harmonix. Plus watching the trailer now, oh yeah. **** you Harmonix.

Now before we go into *****ing and cursing and anyone goes into defending this. Ask yourselves these questions first.
    1. How can this argument not also fit in with any of the band specific Guitar Hero games (besides transferable DLC)?
    2. How the **** do you go from The Beatles to Green Day in giving a "big band" their own game? Especially one who has arguably only had two good albums, EVER (majority of the people on this forum I'm gonna guess are going to agree with me though).
    3. How does this not seem like something Activision would do (outside of the use actual band to play other people's songs)?
    4. How could this NOT have worked merely as DLC? Plus doesn't this give weight in saying "21st Century Breakdown" is the scraps and nuggets of **** of the Green Day backlog?
    5. Is there a big enough market to warrant people to actually buy this or MORE specifically get people to buy it and get DLC?

The only way I could give a ****, is if they treat this as an over glorified track pack where it's $50 and $10 to transfer (even still, a rip off), but give it a few months and it'll be on marketplace as DLC. Though I strongly doubt it. So...Thank God for RBN coming because looks like retail shelves it's following the GH way of things with needless expansions. Plus boom boom kitty **** this also gives some weight to that U2 rumor a few weeks back. Goddamn it all to hell and back if U2 gets a goddamn band game of their own.

    There I said it.

Couldn't agree with Mr. Pardy more, especially on points 2, 3, and 4. Kinda getting sick of the single disc badness. I think The Beatles was warranted and should have been the end of the tale, even AC/DC I could find some merit for (for people who like that kinda thing).

What really should warrant a disc being made for a specific band? And besides are HMX even making money on these, like more than putting the songs out on DLC?

I'm not sold on the idea, it kinda seems like a game that everyone's 15 year old sister is going to play religiously until you get smart and throw it out a window or put the game in the microwave. Trust me, my sister used to play stuff like this everyday in my youth and it has only made my distain for these guys increase.

BTW Mr. Pardy...... give you X-Men unneededs to the Cat and Annette Foundation....

3rd on this. Especially since it'll be exportable. Let the new **** stay as DLC.

Good Green Day songs = Kerplunk and Dookie = ?????? = $60 (Plus $10 export fee) profit!

26 Good songs AT BEST. Insomniac has it's moments, but nothing I would cream my pants over. After this they're literally dead to me from now until...well, to the future. Plus **** you Billy Joel Armstrong and your ****ing political views. "OMGZ! He hates Bush! He's speaking to my generation!!!"

Is there even a preference as to what is wanted? I Know off hand I got like 60+ I don't want and probably still more. I Also got a few hundred Spider-man comics and majority I don't want. THOUGH IT WOULD BE ALOT EASIER IF BEN WERE TO RETURN MY CALLS *HINT HINT*

Pfft, I'll stick with Annette and Danny, the only sensible people in this thread. Wake me up when Screeching Weasel: Rock Band comes out.
