Ever so slightly off topic, but... Mike Portnoy has left Dream Theater. :(

This probably wouldn't affect the back catalog coming to RBN, but very sad news all the same.

Actually, I think it will. Portnoy seemed to me like the most up for it - he said he would in all the intereviews, and, considering his history with bootlegs, he just seems like the kind of guy who would be more up for this sort of thing.

It's still likely to happen because Mike still has partial ownership of their catalog and he still loves the band. He only wanted a break and the other guys are open to him coming back, but they didn't want to bring everything to a halt while he takes his break.

wish we had more news on this.. it's been two years now~ we did get that one Dream Theater song from their last album as regular DLC, so who knows..

I'm sure the label would have to be on board with RBN for this to be a possibility. Feel free to use the "General RBN Song Request Thread" if you'd like to request the band for the RBN.

I think it's safe to close this thread after such a long period of nothing new to report, as bumping the thread may mislead people into thinking there has been a new development. If there is anything new to report on this in the future, feel free to create a new thread at that time.
