The lyrics, the haunting melody, the orchestra that builds us up to the simple but lovable bridge. The way anybody can relate to the song and of course the final piano chord.
That can really be said about any Beatles song, just not my cup of tea I guess. Still think its overrated out of the many other better songs. Anyway still for all of you ADITL fanatics, here is some dissection...

I'm looking forward to Day, but several of the other songs, too. She's Leaving Home, Lovely Rita and Mr Kite are right up there just as much as Day (if not more). Also, I love Sgt Pepper (reprise), so can't wait to rock out with that one.
ADITL is not overrated. No one has to let "it" go, especially if they really do love that song. You don't let go of what you love, ya know?
ADITL is the undisputed highlight of Sgt. Pepper's ... It's the song that will get played the most among fans of the game.
If you don't know the power of this song, get the most high quality headphones you can, put them on as you go to bed and blast this song as loud as you can. Close your eyes; let the music consume you. You will feel why this is the greatest song ever written.
"A Day In the Life" is predicted to be the most popular? Really? We've already got "Sgt. Pepper's / Help from My Friends" and "Lucy in the Sky", which I consider to be the major songs on the album. And don't get me wrong, I'll likely purchase "A Day in the Life".
But the song I'm really looking forward to singing from Sgt. Pepper's is "When I'm Sixty-Four".
A Day In The Life is great, but Mr. Kite is better

Not to nitpick..but the comment directly above this quote disputes that ADITL is NOT in fact the highlight.
lol. Just sayin'.....
As for me, im buying the whole album, as I will every album they release. Theres something almost...."educational for the soul" playing though the whole albums cover to cover. I like doing this with Abbey.
