After all my time on the forums I only just found this thread.....I've got catching up to do...
The Tony Williams Lifetime - Emergency!
Genre: Jazz Fusion
I don't care if the sparingly used vocals are messy, this is one of the best jazz fusion albums I've ever heard.
Straight-up all-stars getting raw and psychedelic in here!
Recommended If You Like: Miles Davis, Billy Cobham, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, Bill Bruford, and Max Roach.
Where Part 1
Where Part 2
yet another album i knew, in fact, i threw it on my album of the week for the record club at my school a few weeks ago
i figured either you, A_C, or hungryfreak would be in here to tell me how entry-level and mainstream this album is. ;)
entry-level!! (points and shakes finger) UNCLEAN!!! UNCLEAN!!!!
seriously though, awesome album, everyone who hasn't heard it must
Whoa, surprising to see something this fairly popular in here, but its awesomeness definitely does warrant a mention.
i totally sold out by doing an album with almost 4,000 listeners on last.fm. :)
The Last - L.A. Explosion!
Genre: Powerpop/Garage Rock
This album should be regarded as a pop classic with it's effortless blend of folk-rock, surf rock, and punk all in the name of catchy melodies packed into two and a half minute songs.
Recommended If You Like: The Knack, Flamin' Groovies, The Soft Boys, Redd Kross, Shoes, and The Barracudas.
