To me, that reads like a thinly veiled way of saying:

"Muse aren't a popular band that is widely known by name alone, so we're not going to work on licensing them, even though there are people who really want to play their music in our game."

I swear, what's the point of coming here anymore? HMX doesn't care, there's high levels of animosity on the forums towards Muse and the people who want Muse, and it's just a joke to everyone.

I think I'm coming to end of my patience. I'm tired of waiting and being disappointed.

I think I'm just going to leave the forums behind me...

Well I think people have made it a joke, because we let it become one. We kept asking, and asking, to the point where it got ridiculous. HMX definitely knows that the fans want Muse, and they would be a profitable band, Muse has gone a long way from their Showbiz days.. I'm assuming there is some kind of hiccup in the licensing, whether or not that's from Guitar Hero it doesn't really matter.

We likely won't see any Muse for a long time, I've already come to terms with that. But that doesn't mean you can't be excited about all the other great music coming out weekly, and still hang around the forums. If hope for Muse is the only reason you're here, and the only reason you still play Rock Band then yeah I would've stopped playing and coming here long ago.

Just don't let it get to you, stop thinking about it!

Really? Really? Personally I think saying that the band is just outside the top 10 most requested bands is a FAR cry from a thinly veiled dismissal...with thousands of bands out there, being in the top 50 even is pretty damn solid. Top 20 is probably some pretty solid company as well....U2, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Rolling Stones...Sounds more to ME like they know it's widely requested and may be working on it, but we all know how it was / is...they MAY be working on it, Muse MAY be wanting too much $$$$, There MAY be some in the pipeline being worked on right now, they MAY even be under contract with someone else and we just haven't heard. They don't fill us in on the details for their licensing because they CAN'T, it's too easy to have something fall through and then they end up with more forum rage.

I'm a regular in that other juggernaut thread, the hair metal crowd...who was also a joke on these forums for a while, and with a huge thread, lots of posters and a solid poll it took us until recently to actually get more for DLC than just Motley Crue...and that's for an entire genre rather than just a single band. We usually got 1 disk song and that was it until we saw Bon Jovi and Poison recently, and hopefully there will be more. I have no doubt we'd have Muse by now if there wasn't some hold up and I'm pretty sure any hold ups are at least checked regularly to see if anything changed for the better.

That would be a possibility if the only bands we've had are the ones requested more than Muse. Unfortunately, I doubt Spoon, The Vines, and Hautewerk were more requested than Muse, so now you're basically TRYING to come up with ways to make it seem like Harmonix are personally out to get every Muse fan, even though Muse has more songs in the game than nearly every other band, and have a shorter stretch of no more appearances than a few, as well.

This is officially the most depressing corner of the internet of all time.

One thing I don't get about this thread is that everyone is so convinced that Harmonix is making a decision not to license more Muse songs just because they don't like the band or are sick of people asking or something like that.

You guys don't think HMX would love to bask in the screams of joy that would come with a Muse pack? (There would also be b*tching about whatever songs were missing or didn't have pro-guitar, but that's pretty much every week about everything) There's no DOWNSIDE to releasing more Muse, so I highly doubt HMX is opting not to. It's got to be some kind of hurdle coming from either Muse themselves or, more likely imo, their representation. Has anyone tried going to a Muse concert and holding up a big poster that says "MOAR MUSE DLC FOR ROCK BAND!" I wonder if they would react...

Like somebody said a few pages back, I think the best chance is whenever Muse releases another studio album. Then they will want some promotion and without Guitar Hero, Rock Band is it when it comes to music games (though they could try Rocksmith lololololol). But it seems REALLY counter-productive to look at every week's DLC and get all discouraged. I'm just about positive it's not going to show up out of the blue. I suspect any Muse DLC will be preceded by some kind of press release or fanfare...they'll want to milk the enthusiasm for all its worth.

    Good point.

Well, the other big chance will be when/if Rock Band 4 comes out, depending on the nature of Harmonix's European release, that would be the other crunch time to get more Muse.

Totally agree with everything you say. I think the reason Jon Drake etc get so arsey about the whole thing is that there is absolutely nothing they can do and (for whatever reason) their lips have to remain sealed. Unfortunately, it doesn't do Harmonix any favours for the pitchfork-wielding Muse massive....

I heard it's an annoying (and highly expensive) obstacle to license their tracks at this point. It's not impossible, they're just having trouble licensing the songs.
