Call me crazy, but I'm getting a feeling that there will be a Muse song on Blitz.
Hear me out:
- from what we know about Blitz, it's going to have a more arcade-y feel to it
- from what little we know of the setlist, the game is going to be made up of more pop-rock/radio hits (ex: Foster The People's "Pumped Up Kicks", even though the subject matter of that song is anything but radio friendly)
So, from that little bit, I'm deducing that one of the 25 songs on Blitz will either be "Supermassive Black Hole" or "Uprising". Unfortunately, "Twilight" has made "Supermassive Black Hole" one of the band's bigger hits and "Uprising" went to #1. So, if we do get a Muse song, it will be one of those two.
...Which would be totally fine with me. :D You guys and your deep-cuts Muse packs make me feel a bit out of place here...
There's nothing at all wrong with the popular singles/"greatest hits". The problem lies with the fact that most of Muse's deep/album cuts are more representative of the talent of the band than the singles and for some of us (read: me) the deeper cuts represent what makes Muse great.
That said, a pack with the likes of "Supermassive Blackhole", "Uprising", "Resistance", "Starlight" and "Knights Of Cydonia" would make me happy simply because they're other Muse songs that I could play in Rock Band.
Same for me. I have to admit that the deep cut are better than the singles, at least for the last albums. The first 3 albums both singles and deep cut are fantastic.
My favourite muse song, Citizen Erased, it's a really popular deep cut (heavily played at concerts, well know by mild fans) so I can't classify it. It would be a great song for a Rock Band pack, btw.
Got a question for you all: If Harmonix were to release Muse, do you think they would initially release a maximum of three song or a larger pack, since the fans have been waiting for so long?
I think they would do the same as Coldplay and release a 6-pack.
Although at this point I'd be happy with just a single.
