Apparently HMX is going to be releasing six full albums by the end of the year, and one of them is an alternative album. Could it possibly be?

I realize the full album news is a bit old, but this is the first I've heard of them going into genre details.

We can only hope. But don't get your hopes up too much. It's good to be excited but it would be terrible to get excited for BH&R only to find out that the "Alternative" album they were hinting at was actually Nickelback.

That would be a whole new level of tragic. :(

That'd be cool if it was Muse, but I doubt it. The albums so far have been "classic" or arguably classic albums. Muse is popular, but they're pretty recent. I can see something like Origin or Abso being a classic 10 or so years from now...

Something like this happening would shake what little faith I still have for Harmonix.

But Nickelback is southern rock. even if they are from canada.

Alternative is pretty vague. Could be anything from NIN to Panic at the Disco.

from a purely vox-centric standpoint, i wouldn't be terribly opposed to either. Still, nothing would light the depths of my deep black soul like a Muse album.

i wonder if anyone will get that joke... couldn't help it after mentioning NIN...

I really hope they have the mind to recognize Panic at the Disco as pop and not alternative.
Though they did say they were coming out with a pop album, too... yikes.

I doubt it'll be Muse... but if it were, that would be amazing.

And too bad you had to miss Weird Al; his performance is very enjoyable.

    Best cows in the world.

Gah, I can't wait to see Muse.
Knowing my luck, though, they won't play New Born or something. D: (It's happened more than once; my favorites always get skipped!)

Oh, I missed the drum tournament to see weird al. It was awesome!

ok, there is the picture I think?

Also, I hope that it is BHAR. Epicness will be held on this forum

Nickelback is post-grunge, which is alternative. Influence from southern rock, but it's not southern rock.

Also, alternative is more of an umbrella term than a genre, so the album could really be anything.

Don't be so negative ;). This thread is big enough to get their attention even if they don't pay attention to requests.
