I'll go away and leave you alone forever now.
Ahh. I haven't seen that yet, shamefully. It's on the to-do list, along with the other few hundred good movies I haven't seen in the past 10 years.
From what I understand, you are either a RBN author or representative of an authoring group correct? If so, I was wondering how do you select what songs you make and/or do you take suggestions from members of the community into consideration?
My process is pretty unconventional. The first step is to just sit down with my iPod on shuffle (which includes the entire setlist from Ozone Radio) and listen to anything that strikes me as perfect for the game. Second, I get inspiration from hearing music just out there in pop culture (I was actually watching a video review on Pac-Man C.E. DX when it hit me to pursue "Pac-Man Fever").
And of course, I listen to the community. If you guys request something, I'll look into it. But the important thing is it can't suck - if you look at the current library of music Ozone Ent. has, it's full of some the coolest, unique music the RBN has to offer.
Another factor in that is the people can't be *******s. As you saw with Crush 40, SEGA were real jerks so I dropped them. I want to work with people who aren't in this just for money, I want people who are legitimately excited about this. Ron Wasserman is a perfect example of this. He and I released an original song just for the RBN and even gave out a signed copy of the Power Rangers movie in a contest for it.
So yeah, pretty much our qualifications are the music kicks ass, the people aren't unapproachable jerks, and obviously that we're able to acquire the rights. Licensing is a pain in the ass. With the "Pac-Man Fever" album, I know that all too well. Feel free to say what songs by current artists we're working with or new artists you'd like to see. I'm always listening to you guys since you're the reason I put up with some of the backstage bull I have. ;)
Got to hand it to The Ozone as the guys who are really carrying forward RBN2.0 as far as I know. Any other keyboard/harmony heavy artists you guys are looking into? Can you say?
