Starting the new year with an ending of sorts... these will be our last RBN1.0 preview videos. We'll still have the release videos, of course, but for now we're going to just build up our background work for RBN2.0.

Morgawr - Dawn (Blood Saga I)/Through the Maelstrom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2cZDVCSXp4
Those Among Us - Disco Ball: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IL0h2hPOgI0

We've got 8 songs left for RBN1.0 (including the two above and one proxy project). There should be more Morgawr and your first taste of Mafia Track Suit very soon.

Pretty busy day for us, we've had two releases today. Well, two with an asterisk; Morgawr's second song, Lindisfarne, has hit the store, and Man Parts opted to re-release their first release Motorcide with a 2x Bass version they did themselves. We also just had our fourth proxy track, Monte Casino's "All I Need", pass review today so that will show up in the next update.

Next update will have two new songs from us, both on the slightly-off-rock side. Mafia Track Suit's first selection (and only one without harmonies), the alternative-pop track "Samiam", is available now, and Bright Midnight's large debut will include our work on "Hotel Saigon", which is our first tier 6 vocals chart ever. You can grab Samiam now, and Hotel Saigon should appear over the weekend.

So, with all the hubbub (I do like the word hubbub) around Rockapella, it'll be easy for us to forget that another of our bands, Abraham Nixon, released their track as well. So if the whole idea around "Bang" is a bit too weird for you, there's always "Secondary Gain" for you, a more straightforward rockin' tune.

That said, you can't really blame us for promoting something totally out there, especially since we're trying to make ourselves out as the team that does that sorta thing. So, all through February we're running a contest connected to "Bang", as well as all our other January releases. Seeing as it was our biggest month yet, it feels kind of the right time. Here's the contest details: http://www.fairwoodstudios.com/bonus.php

And the stuff for our new songs:

    Secondary Gain video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9eZoe-va2k

    Download Bang (demo)
    Download Secondary Gain (demo)

PS: It's entirely possible the contest prizes will get even better.

As someone who does not currently own any sort of video camera, just flat pictures, I appreciate the fact that you have a contest which does not require one. Thank you!

And Bang is frickin' awesome. I love how you charted it. :)

Many thanks! I'm glad the reaction has been mostly positive so far, between it being weird and remaining paranoia since Falling Apart I've been worried about everything we put out. (Though, if the vVv review on Morgawr is anything to go by, apparently we're still in really good shape.)

And on the subject of putting out songs, it looks like Disco Ball will be our penultimate RBN1.0 track, as it just passed review. That gives us a little over a week to focus on getting Dawn/Through the Maelstrom out, and then we can start to show off our RBN2.0 tracks!

Hey, any news on The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza? It's too late for RBN1.5, but your site has no information on the songs other than the songs themselves (Yippie-Kay-Yay Mutha!@#$%^ and I'm Sammy Jankis) and that they were supposed to be on RBN1.5. Anyways, just wanted to know.

All I can say publicly right now is, they could have, would have, and should have been 1.5 tracks, but obviously they're getting held up. We're doing what we can, and may have some other Ricochet projects to announce in the meantime.

What's up with "Vaticinium Ex Eventu"? Seems like it was announced forever ago, and I had assumed it to be a RBN1.0 track, until I forgot about it recently.

A lot has been up with that. Voodoo Pharmacology has had some line-up shifts, and their studio got flooded a few months back, so they have more important things to tackle first. I'm still holding out hope that it'll happen, but I've got no schedule or estimate on it.

In other news, our final RBN1.0 track is out. "I Thought I Knew You" was pretty simple, so we went back for another Those Among Us track, "Disco Ball". It's not simple.

We were hoping to get another Morgawr track out before the cutoff, but there's been enough points of debate to make us go back for another revision, which means it also has to get bumped to RBN2.0. Not the ideal circumstance, but better than putting out a lower-quality track.

And in other random news.... Joystiq is late, but progress is being made on the Meat Boy tracks, so there's that.
