Wouldn't that potentially make it harder to get enough playtests though (mostly with the bigger group idea)?

Yeah it would make it harder as no one that is affiliated with a group can review a song they worked on.
We actually have absorbed quite a few of the smaller groups over the last few years, but pretty much after we got the songs out they were working on the members up and disappeared on us.
There's barely enough people as it is now to get a song through without drastically decreasing the amount of eligible people to review them.
It's a good idea, don't get me wrong, but with how things are at creators it would actually make things harder to get to the fans hands.
Sounds like the smaller groups would be better served by merging together.
I really wish I had the available funds to plop $50 a month, I am far more qualified to playtest than chart...
That's awesome news about the Strikken stuff still coming out, along with the rest of the album. I was just able to get 'Forever in Lies' today. Only one I don't got now is 'Final Act'. Them being only 80msp makes buying em so much easier too, hahah. I love getting good songs for half price of the norm.
Sucks about the youtube problem. Is what it is though.
was it always that? I swear I remembered it being a higher sum... anyway, I thought there was only one level of XNA... the paid one? if you're referring to XBL, I've been gold for 10 years :)
like I've told TAG, I have more free time than I should and have a number of family also willing to play on occasion... I personally play all instruments on all levels of difficulty... though stuff with a lot of foot pedal, I physically can't do as it messes with my arthritis. and I am still trying to get better with the keys, I'm not able to gold star anything on expert keys yet... cept one of the chilli peppers songs... but that's because there's only one note lol
There's actually not a lot of playing when it comes to play testing believe it or not. You play it to make sure it feels right, but the actual testing comes from putting a solo instrument on auto play and looking for rule breakers, and make sure the song is accurately charted on all difficulties, correct pitches for vocals and pro keys, and things like that.
that sounds even easier, I didn't know there WAS an auto play past the charting phase... I can definitely handle that... I just want to see Rock Band not die a horrible death... losing TAG's many contracts with great bands would be a pretty severe blow... I am willing to help in any way I can. I can't afford any spending right now thanks to holiday budget restraints (having kids makes extra money around this time impossible especially since their birthdays are both within the same range) but I might be able to buy my own XNA about February... April at the latest...
