Why, if that many people have complained, have they not addressed it? Why are those sounds different than the rest of the sounds in the game? Why are they not considered sound effects? I'm looking for answers, not just opinions.

What makes you think they can just add what you want to solve the issue without breaking something else?

This is a non-critical issue in comparison to the things they have addressed (or still haven't, in the case of things like the XMB crash). The only fix we will get is in Rock Band 4.

You aren't looking for answers, you're demanding a solution. And one that is unlikely to come.

Also, those sounds are 'different' in that it's the only background event scene with such a constant noise in the background. Every scene like this (hanging on the stoop, getting stoned in the desert, riding in the limo, etc) is 'loud' comparatively. But only the plane scene has the overriding sound of the plane engines.

And the reality is, even if HMX can include a volume slider for this stuff, it would probably affect the audio of the song previews, too. That you think it could or should be done doesn't actually mean that HMX is capable of doing it. It's something like a one in six chance this scene pops up. Either turn the sound down and get used to playing at lower volumes or be prepared to mute the audio occasionally.

    Yeah, sounds about right.

Asking for an answer to a question is demanding a solution now?

You obviouisly do not have an answer to my question and are upset about what I'm asking so why keep responding? And please, stop telling me to "Either turn the sound down and get used to playing at lower volumes or be prepared to mute the audio occasionally." If you read my first post you'd know I'm already doing that.

All I want to know is why those sounds are not considered sound effects. I'm not asking anyone to change anything or do anything. I just want to understand.

I don't know what kind of an answer you're expecting, especially since Harmonix staff don't respond in this thread (I'm sure they read it, but this isn't meant to be a Q&A). If they respond, great, but if you want answers for minor issues that most people don't see as issues, the best you can expect is speculation from forum members: it probably hasn't been addressed because it's not a very high priority fix.

The "failing out" mechanic should be tweaked some, to make it more realistic, especially with the speed that you can fail out now.

There will be another level, below the bottom. "Flashing red" is saved for this level. Spend enough time in this level and you will fail out. Maybe more bottoming outs will cause the time to fail-out to get shorter. The "failed band member death drain" will ignore this.

Maybe add in some "panicking" animations for characters in this state.

Before, one hint of angry booing and your band gave up. Now, the crowd gives the band a chance to pull through, before they start throwing stuff at you.

Why do you not have no-fail on?

Maybe you can accept things and not see them as broken, but I can't.

I do have it on, because they made it easier to bottom out the meter this time around. This new fail-out system was meant for a tour.

Because nothing's broken. It's the same system they've had for six years, working exactly as intended.

If I've got a vase with flowers in it, it's not broken if I don't like how it looks. It's broken if it falls on the floor and breaks.
