Finnish rockers Poets of the Fall - singer Marko, guitarist Olli and keyboardist Captain - started out their musical adventure from scratch in 2003. Marko sold everything he had to invest in pursuing the love of his life, music, with his buddies Olli and Captain. He moved into his folks' basement, when he couldn't keep a place of his own any longer. The guys then built a little studio of their own in Captain's living room for the recording and producing sessions, and kept an office in Olli's beat up old car. The result of the recording sessions was a novel blend of pop, rock, metal and industrial sounds. Later the guys were joined by guitarist Jaska, bassist Jani and drummer Jari.

The band comprising of members of AERODRONE, THIS IS MY EMPIRE, THE LAST GANG and BULLET TREATMENT play uptempo, catchy, hard rockin' tunes in the vein of BAD RELIGION, RISE AGAINST, THE DISTILLERS & FOO FIGHTERS. Led by female vocalist Brenna Red their upcoming full length release "Revelation In The Palms Of The Weak" should see a release in early 2010. Their first single for the song "Small Silhouette" will begin getting aired next week with a preview as part of a feature on ESPN's LA Sports Center segments. They will also be filming a video for the song in the coming weeks, as well as finishing up the final vocal tracks for the record.

Tantric

Tantric is a post-grunge band from Louisville, Kentucky, that was formed by three former members of Days of the New, Jesse Vest, Todd Whitener, and Matt Taul, with the addition of Merge singer, Hugo Ferreira. They were signed to Maverick Records in 1999, and recorded their self-titled debut with producer, Tobey Wright in 2000. The record was released in February 2001, which debuted at #193 on the Billboard 200. The record eventually went platinum, largely on the strength of the single "Breakdown" and the band's extensive touring with the likes of Kid Rock and Creed. Follow-up singles "Astounded" and a remixed version of "Mourning" also fared well.On March 9 2009, Tantric announced through MySpace that their new album will be entitled Mind Control and that the band were in the process of recording the album. Produced by Brett Hestla (Creed), they announced a release date of August 4, and it was released in stores, as well as all digital retailers.
