I got Forza Horizon and NHL '13 on sale today. NHL '13 is all I expected from it, which is good because I didn't like Forza Horizon as much as I hoped I would. I don't remember the handling/steering of the cars as extreme as this, in Forza 3. Though I may just be forgetful. I find myself skidding and losing control of my vehicle more often than any other racing game I've played as I remember. At least it's still fun most of the time. I also downloaded an old racing game I used to have on PS2, off of XBL. The game is Burnout Revenge and it's still my favourite racer. As well as those games I got XCOM: EU. It isn't my favourite strategy game, but it's my favourite strategy game to be played on Xbox 360, since it's turn based and not real-time, where it'd be best to have a mouse and keyboard. I'm almost certain the 360 doesn't have those peripherals, so it ruins RTS' on the 360 for me like Halo Wars. If the 360 does have those peripherals it's news to me.
NFS: Most Wanted (2012) great game!
Started playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Fez. Both are insanely awesome in completely different ways. I just started New Game+ in Fez, and the game has been blowing my mind into little itty bitty pieces with some of its puzzles. I totally understand why my brother kept on telling me to learn as little as possible about the game and to be patient when playing.
As for XCOM, even on normal difficulty it's been one hell of a ride. My initial cadre of soldiers all got wiped out on one mission--without autosave enabled--and things were really tight for a while there before I could finally afford to go on one of the more critical missions, which I managed without suffering any fatalities and managing one of the major side objectives. (People who've played probably know which mission I'm talking about.) It's enough like the old XCOM that it makes me very, very happy.
Beat Halo 4 earlier today. Darn, so good. Definitely can't wait for 5. Jumped into the multiplayer quite a bit, and it is freaking SWEET. Seriously, there are few things in life more satisfying than racking up kills by running people down with Ghosts.
Also started on Portal 2. Pretty good so far. I really hope it gets harder than this though.
Got Far Cry 3 running on my computer after yesterday when it ran like ****. What did I do to fix it? Nothing. Gotta love PC gaming. Pretty fun so far. My complaint is a unique one. Since I was having problems with the game I had to do a lot of restarting. This means I saw the opening cutscene a BILLION times. While this alone might be a complaint mine is because multiple times I waited through the cutscene until I saw a checkpoint pop up. After that I quit out thinking Id be able to jump back in right there, because you know thats what checkpoints do. Nope.
Hitman Absolution is the first game Ive played this year on PC that works flawlessly with an xbox controller without have to adjust anything. Played the first mission and after some restarts I got through it flawlessly, but what I dont understand is how a person on my friend's list got more than double my score.
XCOM is kind of wonky with my controller. I think its because the controller Im using is garbage. I will test that out tomorrow when I get my wireless adapter thing. Played through the tutrioual mission and Nic Cage made it out alive!
Steam holiday season yay. I bought Thirty Flights of Loving and it's excellent, quite unique. I've been playing Magic: The Gathering 2012 (the videogame) a lot. It's a good way to learn the card game and it's much cheaper. I bought Bastion but haven't started playing it yet. I've played about an hour through Lone Survivor and that is also quite an amazing game. A creepy, eerie and innovative survival horror.
