Ichiro? He had a down year last year, but he's still no shmuck.

this talk that Harper is going ot be on the Nats opening day roster is absurd. The Nats could do it, of course, but I feel it would cause a regression. The kid has barely seen offspeed stuff in AA. he needs to put some reps in there before I'm convinced he's ML-ready

If he really impresses during Spring Training (and I mean puts up insane numbers), I see no problem having him on the Opening Day roster. He can always be sent back down if he can't handle the big leagues.

i think he should stay down in the minors too. they have werth, he of the gigantic contract, and morse. im sure they can find some fool to fill in while the kid stays down for the year or at least until june-ish.

Not an offensive juggernaut by any stretch of the imagination but both teams traded away MLB caliber pitching for inexplicable reasons (although one can make excuses on why the Mariners did it) and the Mariners still have a terrible offense

Ichiro has had a down year for the past couple of seasons, which means he's getting closer to the end of his playing days. I'd be surprised if he's still a Mariner after the trade deadline.
