Now I know how Witt feels...well how he would feel if he were slightly more popular and ruggedly handsome.

Personally I believe you're going for a Duchamp/ Rothko style with readymade found writing and uncomfortable colors. If you were to put more repetition into it, I'd call it Warhol and the Frank Lloyd Wright comment just doesn't fit. I feel it expresses simplicity and proposes the question of "what is ban art?"

Dog on the other hand follows a more Andy Warhol style actually.

After that scathing critique I am thankful that at least the "more popular and rugged handsomeness" portion obviously stands up to Witt's scrutiny.

I must disagree with dog's resemblance to Andy as Warhol would stop with a moderate amount of soup cans where as dog has the incessant need to fill up a whole page. I feel this places him as a Madonna/Gaga/Witt "look at me/ center of attention/ cry for help" type artist.

Regardless I feel dog definitely takes a Serrano "look at me I put something in pee" approach to art instead of the "look at me I'm whacked out on drugs and painted a soup can" methodology.

In conclusion, I feel Dog's work is undoubtedly fueled by the same drug and alcohol induced stupor as Warhol but his motivation is derived from another source all together. That source is where the classification lies, not in the final product in and of itself.

A famous saying by Warhol when answering why he painted so many soup cans was that they were what he ate for lunch. This menas he painted what was available to him in his environment which is a typical exploration that all artists do. Artists have many pictures of their studios or around their home because its what's there. Dog is exhibiting what is in his environment given the limited resource of ban. However Dog has at times made stairways, and bans of all sizes much like Warhol would paint cans in different colors and flavors.

What you are exhibiting is a new artists ego. You believe you have done something original because the uneducated masses like it. I've seen bans in different colors, I've seen bans in different sizes, and I've seen bans in different fonts. Your ban art is burgeoning style that hasn't gotten anywhere near the point of challenging the perception of ban yet.

As for your rugged good looks. If they're half as good as your ban art, I'd fire your mother.

My harshest critics are my best friends. But I don't have any plans to knock up Daxx like that critic.

You think I'm uneducated because I like pictures of soup?
