This is exactly how I feel. I too give credit to Rock Band for giving me the push to try it out, but Rocksmith makes me feel a lot more confident in learning how to play.
On a side note, it almost seems like I can't give the Squier away. It seems like local music stores aren't interested and I get no responses on Craiglist. Oh well, maybe it'll collect dust as a novelty item. I can at least use it as a conversation piece to talk about how I first got into guitar.
That's a good idea actually... the local music store in town is pretty chill, and I bet they wouldn't even think twice about letting one go.
On a side note, I just entered a new event on Rocksmith, and I got Plug In Baby as one of my songs. It had an inordinately high qualifying score of 90,000 (my highest score being around 65,000). I decide to play it for practice, and I notice something bizarre. All the phrases are MAXED. The highest I have got the main riff to before was 75% using the riff repeater.
While this caught me off-guard, I gave it my best shot. I netted a cool 82,500. Man, I love this game and its method of constantly trying to challenge me. I never dreamed after 5 months of playing I'd be getting 80-100,000 on over half the songs on disc.
General consensus is that is B.B. King's guitar in the picture. If it is, I'd probably buy the DLC.
BB King was the first person i thought of. _ _ _ _ - _ _ - _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ _ = king-of-the-blues
