What Is Light? Where Is Laughter? - Twin Atlantic
    Little Sister - Ultra Saturday
You, Me, and the Boatman - Quiet Company.

One day I'll get around to listening to more RBN music. Until then, I NEED these. Especially that first one.

Ugh... this the only community on the internet where my interest is nearly cut in half because of my dislike of metal and blisteringly hard songs. :(

Well, now we got all the Townsend songs and AES songs from the GH series. (this is the first RBN week where I will buy all 5. Thanks HMX!) This also means I only have one band to request.

    Chaotrope

Oh, also Great Balls of Fire when its ready.

I'm with you. Songs from the metal genre seem to dominate a bulk of the releases on the PS3.

Not all metal is bad, but giving us 4 metal songs and a mediocre instrumental track next week doesn't offer a lot of variety.

I previewed all 5 songs on YouTube, and i'm thinking... Don't people want music that's vocally, lyrically and instrumentally richer than this?

There's some great music on the RBN, but for some bizarre reason, all we seem to be getting is metal, and classical/progressive instrumental tracks.

    I still request the following:

    "Fragments" - an Unkindness
    "A Death" - an Unkindness
"Words Cannot Express" - an Unkindness

and, it would be awesome if they made and released an RB3 version of "Dance Floor" by Apples in Stereo (I just think the keys would be great on that track). Disappointed it never made it across with the other RBN 1.0 tracks.

You know, it's a lot nicer if you manage to post requests in here without belittling the musical tastes of others. Don't act like music is somehow of lesser value or less 'rich' simply because you're unable to enjoy it.

That being said, now that we have all of Townsend's material, an Unkindness would be in my top three requested artists as well, along with Ava Inferi (as soon as their other tracks are released) and Minotaur Project.

I'm sorry for the way my post was taken. I got that message loud and clear in the other thread. It was a tad harsh and I apologise for that.

I never meant to belittle or disrespect anyone. I was simply asking for more variety than 4 songs from the same artist in a single week. I realise you can't please us all and I don't expect others to have the same musical tastes as mine. If there's nothing that appeals to me this week, that's fine. Hopefully there'll be something next week or the week after that. I just wish the weekly selections had 5 songs from different artists/genres so in theory there'd be something for everyone each week.

I think your complaint would be easier to hear if we had RBN 4-fers on PS3 more frequently.

We've only done this twice. And the last time was in August 2011.

Heck, we haven't even done a 3-fer since 8/21, and we won't have another one until 1/8.

Release week - Greatest number of songs by the same artist
    8/28/12 - 1
    9/4/12 - 1
    9/11/12 - 1
    9/18/12 - 2
    9/25/12 - 1
    10/2/12 - 1
    10/9/12 - 2
    10/16/12 - 1
    10/23/12 - 1
    10/30/12 - 1
    11/6/12 - 4
    11/13/12 - 1
    11/20/12 - 1
    11/27/12 - 2
    12/4/12 - 1
    [and so forth]

You're already planning that far ahead? So....is that good or bad news for relatively recent Xbox releases I want ported over (Drugstore Fanatics and BTBAM)?

"That far ahead" isn't actually that far ahead. PS3 RBN submissions are about 2, maybe 3 weeks forward from where we were at this time last year.

Why are we submitting early right now? As we approach the holidays, a) a lot of developers are submitting exciting holiday releases, and b) there are periods of time when content cannot be submitted or released.

We want Rock Band releases to continue as smoothly as possible, so we're getting our submissions in early so that we can minimize any delays here.

However, if you're really excited about a song that came out this week, it'll be a wait.

Well those were 2 or 3 weeks ago I think? Not that I expect you to confirm anything you can't, it's just a little unexpected to know that songs that are coming out now are off the table for well more than just the 30 days exclusivity.

It's little-known but true that this is the case. I think I mentioned it briefly around the release of this article, which states that "[e]ach console has a unique submission schedule and testing timelines ranging from 2-6 weeks prior to release".
