BandFuse: Rock Legends Brings Slash Back to Gaming
Plus songs from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Coldplay, Maroon 5 and more.

    February 22, 2012

BandFuse: Rock Legends, the newest music game to interact with real instruments, is headed to Xbox 360.

The game will use real guitars and microphones and feature legitimate guitar tablature instead of the note highways seen in most recent music games. Players will be guided by rock legends including Slash from Guns N' Roses and more.

According to a press release, "a unique interface using animated tablature will simplify music for beginners, showing them where to put their fingers and when to hit the strings. Experienced guitarists will be challenged to master solos and advanced techniques, playing along with songs exactly as recorded by the original artists."

The game will be playable with any guitar using an included adaptor and will be able to apply effects like distortion and reverb. It will include songs from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Slash, Maroon 5, Coldplay, Five Finger Death Punch and more, plus a full career mode. A Total Song Control option will allow players to "slow down songs to hear every nuance or loop your favorite segments as you jam along."

BandFuse: Rock Legends is set to be released on Xbox 360 later this year.

Sounds to me like this game will just be taking GuitarPro and making it into a video game.

Hm, its called "Band" Fuse. I wonder if that means drums or even keys could be included. My guess is no. The article only says guitar and vocals. Oh well, until I can play my mustang I wont be giving any other games a try. But if it had keys I would go preorder it now.

looks a bit cheap so far

like when rocksmith came out, they totally disregard rockband as plastic controlled game. if it truly is lag free then i think that's the only thing it'll have ahead of rocksmith.

and a video interview with slash

my guess is that neither rocksmith nor rockband will be seeing any slash dlc for a long time. not that i care, i was never a fan.

I wouldn't pick this up even if it were better than RB because RB does everything I'll ever want from a music game.

The logo is slightly reminiscent of Rock Band's.

I like how they're using the real music videos as backgrounds.

    here's an interesting quote

-A refugee from Rocksmith who now works with Realta told us, “We’re getting feedback we’ve never had before. On Rocksmith, we were looking up guitar tabs on the internet. With Bandfuse, we hire a team of professional transcriptionists and guitar teachers to obsess over it.”

what would make a new guitar game an instabuy for me would be if it wasn't genrecentric. i'd like to see some folk, classical, spanish and jazz guitars in a game - even mexican polka for gods sake. i know it's a long shot for rockband because they include 4 instruments but for a guitar only based game, Rock seems so limiting.
