Rock Band's Most Wanted Tournament II: Qualifying Rounds
Here we go again! It's time to scout the music world for a new band to join The Eagles - "Hotel California" in Rock Band's Most Wanted Hall of Fame. This time, it'll be bigger and badder. In the Rock Band's Most Wanted Tournament II, we will see 100 new bands fighting to see who will come out on top. That's not all. They will be joined by 28 bands from the last tournament who are hungry for revenge. It's time to see who will be crowned the next Rock Band's Most Wanted. To the veterans of this tournament, you all probably know most the run-down. For the newbies to the tournament, I hope you got your reading glasses handy.
Second Chance Nomination Round
The first round of the first Rock Band's Most Wanted Tournament saw many upset victories and ultimately 67 bands and artists were sent packing. This round will see those 67 bands battling for a second chance, but only 28 will advance. You will have 5 points to use a day. First 28 bands to 20 points will advance to the next round.
Band Qualifying Round:
The Rock Band's Most Wanted Tournament has several rounds. The Qualifying round is for selecting the Top 100 bands as voted on by all of us. The way a band qualifies is by receiving 20 points. Once it reaches the 20 point mark, it has officially qualified. When the band has qualified, it must be taken off of the voting list and put onto the qualifers list. Each person has 5 points to give to their band per day, so choose wisely. After the Qualifying Round comes the Song Selection Round.
Song Selection Qualifying Round:
The Song Selection Round directly follows the Qualifying Round. The purpose of this round is to select the Top 3 songs for each of the 128 bands (If anyone cares, that would be a total of 384 songs). Songs for each band will be selected in groups of 4 bands at a time. When three songs have have been selected, another band will take its place on the list. It works almost entirely the same as for the Band Qualifying Round except each person has 3 points per day. Once a song has 20 points, it will be added as one of the 3 songs for that artist. Once every band has 3 songs, we move on to the Song Elimination Round.
Song Elimination Round:
The Song Elimination Round is where we narrow down the Top 3 songs for each band down to just the best song. Instead of 3 points per day, you now may only recieve 1 point to award. It will remain 1 point for the remainder of the tournament. Again, the first band will be in the first voting window, etc. Once that song receives 20 points, that song will be officially entered into the tournament as one of the Top 128. This will continue until there is one song for each band. The next round is the start of the Rock Band's Most Wanted Tournament (I will start a new thread for Round 1 and past).
Round 1:
Round 1 is basically where the Top 128 is chopped down by 75%. 4 bands will go up against each other. There will be a total of 3 matches going on at a time. The first song to reach 20 points will advance to Round 2. Remember, you will only have 1 point to award. Once all 32 groups of 4 battle, the Top 32 will enter into Round 2 and Beyond!
Rounds 2-5:
The way to win is to, again, receive 20 points. At the end of Round 2, 32 will become 16. Round 3 will end up with 8, Round 4 with 4, and Round 5 with 2. This leads into the Final Round.
Final Round:
The Final Round will feature the Top 2 songs going face to face. The first song to receive 20 votes will be the winner of the Rock Band's Most Wanted Tournament II!
