I understand what you are saying in terms of promotion with games like N+ and Super Meat Boy, but those were independent small companies made up of a handful of people. I think the Rock Band brand is pretty well known, they already have a web presence and an excellent reputation.

You still have to drive people to this Flash game, how would you do that? Most likely through social media and these very forums. These happen to be the same avenues they already promote the game as being available on Xbox and PS3 at the end of August. I just don't think as a promotional tool it has a lot of traction.

Most people know of the Rockband World image, in fact I started a thread inquiring about it. But I'm thinking they will just redesign the Rockband Dashboard App that already exists for this purpose which is possibly what GNF is talking about.

the same way as those other games i mentioned did it. make a good enough game and it will most of the times already be put on the front page of those sites i mentioned.

most of those other games i talked about were big before facebook and such became big. so it's not like social media is the 100% perfect only way to get people to notice things. Especially when you think of the people that want to avoid sites like twitter and facebook like myself

I don't know where you are from Jibbly so perhaps you have a point, I can only speak for North America but those sales would make up a vast majority of anything they sell, next closest would be the UK.

Rockband Blitz will be on IGN, Gamespot, Destructoid and god knows what other game sites with reviews when it releases. It will have exposure but for all I know people outside of North America don't go to those sites either.

Social media isn't the best way to get a message out, but it's a pretty darn good one.

I think that its more of a marketing issue. I'm not the target audience for this as they already have my sale.

Reminds me of Portal flash version, and I adored that. So I'm in. Also anytime a girl looks at me like that I generally do whatever she says.

While dead horses probably shouldn't be beaten, particularly when this one's practically a mummy and may rise to haunt us again, that's totally explainable when hardware availability has been practically nil, even during the RB3 push.
