This Thread is For Otakus (Because I don't think another one exists)
So as I was going through the Less Rokk More Talk forums today I thought "Why isn't there a devoted thread to anime and manga?" And so this is why this thread exists, so we can all be nerds and otakus in a cluster so big it might as well be called Giant Naked Ball of Nerdiness. PLease try to be nice to each other though.

So what anime and manga have you read? My list is as follows:

    Anime

    Neon Genesis Evangelion (26 episodes)
    Fullmetal Alchemist (25 episodes)
Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt (13 episodes)
    Deadman Wonderland (12 episodes)
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (12 episodes)
    FLCL (6 episodes)
    Squid Girl (~6 episodes)
    Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (4 episodes)
    Ergo Proxy (3 episodes)
    Kaiba (1 episode)

    Others:
    Crayon Shin-Chan
    Dragon Ball (original, Z)
A bunch of 4kids dubs when I was young (Sonic X, Kirby: Right Back At Ya!, etc.)
    End of Evangelion
Rebuild of Evangelion 1.11: You Are (Not) Alone
    Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie
A bunch of Studio Ghibli movies (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, Castle in the Sky, The Secret World of Arriety, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea)

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos

    Manga (I lack here)
    Yotsubato! (80 chapters)
Puella Magi Kazumi Magica (19 chapters)
Squid Girl (3 or 4 chapters)

    Let the nerdfest begin!

As for anime, I've seen Death Note, first few episodes of Persona 4, first two episodes of Wolf's Rain, and the first 25 or so episodes of Bleach.

Not 100% accurate, but it's good enough =)

I figured, but I'm not going to necromance a 3 year old thread.

So anyways, considering I haven't watch a whole ton of anime, can someone recommend me some to watch based on what I already have?

I thought Gowie made a thread called Animation Domination, but eh

    http://myanimelist.net/animelist/HeyRiles

It kind of looks like you're all over the place with your list of shows you've watched, but I guess the most common is whatever is related to Fullmetal Alchemist

I think Ao no Exorcist is a pretty good one that is kind of comparable to FMA, which kind of follows the story of a different outcast

Ehh, to be honest I watched the first season of the 2003 version, then got bored of it (although my brother loves it). The only reason I included it is for completeness.

    So minus FMA?

    Umm lemme think

For Puella Madoka, the best fit I can think of at the moment is Mirai Nikki, which, I guess, is kind of a mix of Puella Madoka and Deadman Wonderland, now that I think of both. And Yuno is delightfully insane

Panty and Stocking is pretty much sex jokes, so I dunno. Probably Seitokai Yakuindomo since that's a sketch show of sex jokes. B Gata H Kei revolves around sex as well, but that's more visual than conversational

FLCL, there's some show Gowie really likes that I didn't like much that I think is a lot like Fooly Cooly. I don't remember the name of it though, maybe he'll mention it later

And Squid Girl is kind of most cute shows I guess. I didn't finish it and I'm not a big fan of shows like that so you'd probably have to ask elsewhere

Also Ao no Exorcist is about a kid who finds out he's actually the son of Satan, and when Satan kills his human father who was some high priest, he vows revenge to kill Satan by becoming an exorcist like his father was. It's a pretty cool story of trying to fit in, I guess

My favorite anime/manga series is Magic Knight Rayearth. I usually don't like such cutesie shows, but nostalgia wins out on this one.
