It is increasingly difficult to change any piece of data in that blob, and the smaller the info, the harder it is the alter. For that reason, a broader change like removing all the visible star data would be less disruptive than only changing star data for one song at a time.

It was most certainly something that came up in our discussions, but due to the way the save data is arranged it wasn't the most viable option.

Yeah, I'm a (mediocre) coder myself, so I understand exactly what they were talking about. My suggestion would only be viable if that particular data were readily accessible from the beginning. I know very well from hard-won experience how problematic messing with data structures after the fact can be.

With the current method being the best option, I wonder if more attention might be paid to the Rock Band World profile functionality. Now that we're going to have to pretty much exclusively rely on it for our permanent result repository (at least in terms of star results), it might be nice to have it a little more robust than it currently is.

In particular, it would be nice to be able to display our entire song list at once instead of forcing it to split off into the categories in the drop-down. Also, it would be great if we could sort or possibly filter the list by other indices than just the song name. At the very least, Artist and Genre would be nice, especially considering how many of the goals are related to those particulars.

I suspect that the limited design may have been intentional to keep load and retrieval times down, and that's perfectly understandable, but I suspect those few of us who have enough songs to push those boundaries wouldn't mind suffering longer load times in order to have more robust functionality. Just a few thoughts to possibly pass onto the Web team if you're so inclined. Thanks again!

I have 882 songs played according to RBW and received the "A Message About Your Game Data" message. That seems a bit early, is this normal? Will my data still be safe until I hit 1000 songs or should I expect that to hit quite a bit sooner than expected as well?

So my numbers for the warnings were a bit off, and the messages should roll in at around 875 unique songs and the stars wipe should hit at around 965 unique songs played. I say "around" because the messages are tied to the the size of the save data file, not the exact number of songs. That means some people might get the message a little earlier and others will see it a little later, but those numbers are the general guide.

p.s. We've only seen another 3 people hit this mark since rolling out the fix last week so we are barely only in the double digits for users affected. But we can confirm that the auto messaging and auto star wipe are working as intended, which means it looks like we're avoiding any downtime in playing. Give me a shout if you're at that mark but haven't received an in game inbox message yet.

I turned on Blitz this morning and went to buy some DLC so I can complete some of the goals I missed out on because of this crash. Once everything was loaded I went to play one of the goals and the song freezes every few seconds making it almost impossible to play a song and get a decent score or achieve a certain goal. I tried another song and I got the same result. I rebuilt my database and tried again with the same results.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone gotten any swag yet? Have neither heard of nor received anything yet.

    freezing up.
I am not a guy who plays all the time but have definitely logged in lots of play time. I haven't played in a couple months but have started getting back into playing again recently as my kids are now older and interested in playing with me now. Sadly we only got to play 4 songs before it froze up on us in the middle of playing our 5th song. I went through many threads and followed some other people's advice about deleting all my saved files for Rockband3 (I transeferred everything onto a PS3 slim) and trying to play again after doing so. It seemed like that worked, we played about 13 songs then it crashed and froze up again. I am quite frustrated and really am not understanding what is going on. Looking for some help from people who are in the know here. Thanks guys.
