    Nothing happened to them. You just don't like the album. And that is about it. Try not to think too much about it.

    I dislike everything they have released expect for American Idiot. And this is coming from somebody who was in high school when Dookie hit.

    Some of my favorite Green Day songs are on 21st Century Breakdown.

    But I don't even like Green Day so that doesn't say much.

    Objectively speaking, there has to be something recognized about Green Day's growth. Ten years ago, nobody would imagine a pop-rock outfit with some Ramones and Screeching Weasel worship would ever go towards working with rock opera soundscapes and promoting musicals of their work. Definitely the most interesting band out of their limited scene, but that's not saying much since the musicians of Blink182, Sum41 and such didn't grow at all.

    21st started out awful(barring the title track), but Act III is some strong work(barring 21 Guns) by their standards.


    Unfortunately, that means I never listen to it since that would mean dealing with a dozenish songs of bad/mediocre to END on some good ones.
