I can wait until you eventually get to it. In fact, I have been giving the other tierers some other stuff in the meantime.

Fair enough. Just so you know, the 3 week halt was due to exams at school, (important ones, A-Level modules), so I was working hard for those and had no time for this. But now I've finished them I can get back to this hopefully. :) I actually don't know how GandWuser can cope with the influx of songs he gets. He does 5 every 2 days, and has done that for 4 or 5 months now. As an aside, I've been here 3 months and only done 100 or so songs. The guy's nuts! :D

Also, Mahavishnu Orchestra is Jazz Fusion. What exactly does that mean? Is it jazz or progressive? I'd need to listen but I'm just making sure so I know I'll like it.

I understand myself. That is actually the reason that I haven't started a tiering thread of my own.

Jazz Fusion means that it is a fusion of Rock and Jazz. However, Jazz's complex musical ideas led for it to be tagged as Progressive.

As for the Mahavishnu Orchestra album, it has elements of both Progressive in the longer songs like the 7-minute long "The Dance Of Maya" and elements of Jazz Fusion in shorter songs such as "Awakening," which is just over 3 and a half minutes. Then there are some songs that use elements of both, which makes it even more confusing.

Jazz Fusion (like Jazz) has always seemed to me to use more spontaneity (improvised passages) than with Prog, which mostly seems to be written out as if it were pre-planned (which it is).

To make it simpler, I would categorize it as Progressive.

You think that's crazy? I tier an average of 6 songs a night, sometimes 10.

Now that is crazy. How do you find the time and motivation to do nearly 10 songs a night?

Tonight I think I'll finish the rest of Aenima off (4 songs left). If I've got time as well, I might do a Radiohead or one for myself. :)

UPDATE: Starting on tonight's update (finishing off Aenima). Let me know if you think I get some tiers wrong.

UPDATE: I've finished Aenima. I missed our Cesaro Summability as it's only 1:26 long, so I didn't see much point. If you really want me to tier it though, I'll do it. But if not, then the album's finished. :)

Didn't have time for as much tonight as I did yesterday, so I just tiered The Flower Kings - Stardust We Are (25 minutes long, from the 1997 album of the same name) for myself. Very technical, artistic and brilliant. I recommend you listen to it. :) As with most of their songs so far, it's also difficult to play. ;)

Just for the record, if you want a song tiered just say so, but I've got a few already so no problem if you don't have one for me. I also can do more on Fridays and Saturdays, since I have more free time then. :) So updates on those days are larger than weekdays.

Tonight I might do another Flower Kings one, or maybe a few Radiohead. Can't decide yet. I need to see which Radiohead songs I still need to do.

Only actually had time to tier this tonight. (The Flower Kings - Deaf, Numb & Blind). What a tune. :)

The closest I can get to an actual answer for this is lots of free time and scheduling. I really don't like to do heaps of them at a time because it's pretty exhausting.

Anyways, I've got a song for you to tier.

Fernando the Manwhore feat. Gooseman - "Quest of the Manwhore"

Alternatively you may label the artist as "Sexual Lobster". But the Fernando one is funnier. Album is Unreleased, Genre is Novelty, Year is 2011.
