Dude, even the wii was ******ed, technologically speaking, when it came out. Nintendo doesn't care about hardware as long as it's not so far from gamers standart (at the time the wii came out, not everyone had an HDTV, including me). They made the WiiU because they know that people wants HD, and wants dolby/dts, so they made a new design fitting those criteria. Don't forget that the PS3 came out the same week as the wii, and the PS3 has an eight-core CPU, compared to the wii that has a single 700mhz core. Just sayin'.

I don't think you understood my post. See I bought the wii because GIMMICKS and Nintendo was funded because of this. By releasing this cheap POS and trying to fool us again makes me think Nintendo pretty much said **** THIS lets just profit again off ignorance. They might just pull it off but I ain't helping them on this gen. **** them. Same to Harmonix if the DLC doesn't export to RB4 on the PS3/360.
Now the games they released AAA included were mere ghosts of what their games were about. I mean look at Metroid, Zelda and The Smash Bros series. Other M was terrible made by a third party dev, the last Zelda while not bad has to be the worst the series has offered and Brawl was a casuals wet dream.

and the crappy hardware begins to show

    http://www.gamespot.com/news/no-metr...report-6400436

for those not interested in clicking links, the game Metro: Last Light won't be coming to Wii-u because, quote, "It has a horrible, slow CPU"

as stated later in that article they do say (in a later interview) they could make it for Wii-u but it would have to be scaled down quite a bit and that's not worth the effort.
also in that later interview (of which i only found a Dutch version for now, don't feel like looking for it in english) 4A games says that in terms of number of transistors on the CPU it's about the same as 1 xbox360 CPU (which uses 3 CPU's). that doesn't mean it's only 1/3rd as good as the Xbox CPU, but they would have to have done do a heeeeelllll of a lot of optimizing to make it just as good as an x360.
They did not say exactly how much power the CPU has.

Wait...did you say Skyward Sword was the worst in the series?

I haven't played it, but I was under the impression that Skyward sword was the best game since Ocarina of time, possibly even the best Zelda game period from what I've read.

And as someone who has played the Philips CD-I Zeldas (yes I owned one of those pieces of ****), I have to tell you that THOSE games were the worst Zelda titles BY FAR.

Yeah, Skyward Sword was a fantastic game. I still think Ocarina is the best Zelda, but Skyward Sword really was amazing.

I really don't know why Zelda games are starting to sound like euphemisms.

    Windwaker- passing gas
    Twilight Princess - hooker
    Skyward Sword... just guess

People don't really buy Nintendo systems for the hardware, though. They buy it for the first party titles and the branding. I don't think anyone reasonably expects (at least I hope not) the system to be on par with the Xbox and PS. Nintendo's made it pretty clear since the Gamecube what audience they cater to.

That reasoning works for one generation, the Wii. Do you really think your mom or grandma who bought the Wii, which was probably because of Wii Sports something the Wii U doesnt have the equivalent of, are going to go and by the Wii U? No and that probably goes the same for a large portion of the people that Nintendo attracted because of the Wii.

Nintendoland is the launch equivalent of Wii Sports (IMO, I think it's more fun than Wii Sports, too). Regardless, the branding here is key. It's Nintendo - they always attract a large audience. I'm interested in seeing the sales numbers at the end of the month.

All of the Gamestops in my area have waiting lists for the Wii U.
