Man, five years. Wow. I may be a bit late to the party, but I don't think that means I can't share my story! About 4 years ago, I went through a tough time with some personal problems that came about from the people at my school which forced my parents to have to make me change schools. This, of course, meant that I would lose my only two friends (I'm not a very social person). That made me rather sad. I was also the sort of person that didn't want to make any new friends, because I feared that moving on meant that I wouldn't ever see my old ones again (I never did, but that's beside the point). Anyway, I managed to guilt my parents in to buying me Guitar Hero III and Rock Band, despite the fact that it was a huge expense for them. I was instantly infatuated with them in a completely different way than any other video game I'd played before. It could be the fact that it got me at a very vulnerable time in my life, but the influence those games had on me is one of the greatest influences anything has ever had on me. The reason they had such an influence on me was because of the fact that, before then, I never listened to things that weren't showtunes or Elvis, but since then, I've had a huge passion for all sorts of music. My unhealthy obsession for Rock Band is even helping me graduate high school, because of the fact that the school is counting my time writing for RockBandAide as volunteer work (of which 40 hours are needed to graduate). In fact, after high school my intention is to go to college to learn music production. All this because of how much of a passion Rock Band, and Guitar Hero, gave me for music.

Thank you Harmonix! You have truly changed my life for the better.

It has been a busy 2012. I know I have not been on here as often as I would like, but I ran across this thread and had to share. I have so many stories, so let me sum it up like this.

The game of Rock Band has afforded me a lot of things. among these things is a relationship, friends and I got to travel and go places I otherwise may have never gotten to go. Due to this game I have friends that I will have forever, and memories that will never fade. I would also like to say Harmonix is a great company. I will tell you first hand that no one in this company is fake. They say they care about the fans and they do. People like myself have built not only careers, but has been on TV in the name of Rock Band. Others have created hardware of all kinds for this game and made a ton of money. At anytime Harmonix could have shut this down, but they never did. If it was good for the community they were all in.

I have met several of the guys in person which include Harmonix Henry and John Drake. They have never denied me anything and have always treated me with respect. I know the community is not where it once was, but we can get it back again as long as there are people that still love this game. One story that comes to mind which is still on my youtube channel we dubbed it the hand shake fail.

I was at E3 with Ryan Guard, Ibiteprettyhard and Someguy. Well we were rocking the E3 stage and we gold starred a song. At the end of it Someguy went to shake hands with Ibiteprettyhard Well he did not see him and left him hanging, so Someguy tried to play it off like he was trying to brush the side of his head. Trust me it is more funny if you see it on video. This is just one story I have of this AWESOME game.

I do not want to make this post too long or I would go into all the other ones. I just want to say to Harmonix happy 5 years! You guys deserve it. I will always stand behind this game. Also guys, I think it is time for RB4!!!:)

It's 2013 and we've had barely a year and a half of fully upgraded pro songs, so here's to another five years! I hope we get some more really great selections in the next five years, and I hope that Harmonix can fix some of the glitches we struggle with. And in the next five years, more packs that include pro updates so we can get more people playing together. Also looking forward to legacy pro updates in the next five years! This thing is just getting started! Cheers

Hey, I am fairly optimistic, in general, but we do not have five more years for this (by "this" I mean new DLC). We have five more months, *maybe* not even that.

Edit P.S. I used five as a quantity because you did, but it is really looking more like three-ish months left for DLC.

Not got time to give a story at mo, late here and got early start tomorrow but just need to give some sort of response to what i've been reading tonight. For me, as an 'uptight Brit' , its been emotional.

I dont usually get involved in forums on the internet as i've always found them quite 'cliquey' and never really understood the 'community' thing but this forum, and reflectively YOU people are an inspiration to how an 'internet community' should be.

I wish i had discovered this long ago (been playing rockband since it got released in the UK) and it seems that i may be too late now if rumours are true, but from now i will definately pay more interest in this side of the Rock Band experience.

Thank you, the Rock band community, for opening my eyes to a new world.

From a 40 yr old Brit Rocker :D

For what it's worth, whatever happens with RB, we know how important these forums are to people, so we're going to do everything we can to make sure that the community is still supported. We don't have any plans to shut these forums down any time soon, and we're still planning on posting regularly to keep tabs on the forum faithful. Hopefully we'll be seeing you around.

Thanks so much for the kind words about the community, it really means a lot!
