NIN didn't even appear as a downloadable option.

Happened to me too. Wasn't planning on buying The Weight, super-strapped for cash right now, no more MSP left in the account, so I suppose I'm waiting on Closer. Eh, it wasn't my most anticipated song this week anyway, and I'm still kind of hooked to Halo 4.

EDIT: Just for clarification I'm on 360 and bought it on xbox.com.

If this results in The Band getting inflated sales numbers for today, and results in additional The Band DLC down the road, that is acceptable collateral damage AFAIC.

Probably because they'd already pulled it at that point. I notice that Closer also does not currently appear in the songs database whereas the rest of the songs do.

Just wanted to let you know that we've heard back from Microsoft. They've pushed the correct offer, but it will likely take a few hours to prop. We expect to have this sorted by the end of the day, but if things are looking dicey we may pull Closer from the store until tomorrow to limit the number of people affected.

As for next steps, we'll know how things work once the correct offer is propped. We'll update once we've been able to test.

Would you recommend that users hold off on purchasing either of these songs from Xbox until further notice?

Just went into my download history and it let me download the correct version. Playing Closer on keys now.

Will there be any restitution for those of us that accidentally got "The Weight"?
