Today, I was playing Rock Band, and I was playing Call Me Maybe. My father said that, by adding Call Me Maybe and all those pop songs to Rock Band, that I could sue Harmonix for creating false advertisement by including music that isn't rock in Rock Band.
It was the best "I thought this was ROCK Band" argument I've heard. It's still a stupid argument, but it was entertaining to listen to.
Those two things are completely unrelated, so it's an invalid comparison. The problem I'd have is what is your definition of "better" when comparing 2 things of the same category... And when it comes to music and/or bands, "better" is defined by the listener.
And we can build the dream together. Standing strong forever. Nothings gonna stop us now.
"I like Nickelback more than the Beatles" - acceptable statement.
"Nickelback are better than the Beatles" - utter nonsense.
See what I mean?
I'm curious, does your mindset extend to other art forms? Would you balk at me saying The Godfather is a better movie than Manos: The Hands of Fate ? Yes, there certainly is a gulf between the two in my personal enjoyment, but that's not the statement I'm making here.
