although I'm not 100% counting Serious Sam 3 as that, because it had quite a lot of the linear small corridor forward pushing that I so detest in modern games.

where as Spec Ops in terms of gameplay is a generic 3rd person shooter, which has been done way better by many companies before (nope, not talking about the storyline or anything. just gameplay perspective)

tell me this, if you could have spec ops, being 5 times longer. while still keeping the same feel you've had throughout the entire game like what you felt about the game like it is now. would you not want it?

because the only thing to blame for that not being there, is that the developers didn't have enough creativity/imagination/material to do that. while it would've been technically easily possible.

So Serious Sam gameplay is better because you have to run backwards instead of forwards?

Generic doesnt mean bad in the terms of gameplay. It works it feels good and it doesnt make the game worse to play. Thats good.

If Spec ops was 25 hours long would I want it? Probably not. I enjoy shorter games because they dont feel like they go on too long. Even good games that are lengthy sometimes feel like they go on too long. Also I like variety and if every game was 25 hours long that would be antithetical to what I want.

I still haven't sent out that Raconteurs one. I gotta do that.

Yeah Zappa. One of my favorites too and from what I understand somewhat rare.

Also my copy says "Promotional Not for Sale" on it so I don't know if that means anything or not. I'll have to do some more research. The only reason I say that is because it's in fantastic shape. The cover is a little rough but the album itself looks like new.

Could actually be worth something. Not that I'd ever sell it.

nope, if you actually read what i said. which apparently nobody does, that makes the gameplay unique.
the balance makes the gameplay in that aspect very good.

they are 2 completely different types of gameplay. so no, it isn't better because you can't compare them. What I can say is that I have never seen any game do the gameplay in Serious Sam any better than Serious Sam itself. where the gameplay in Spec Ops is below average compared to other games with similar gameplay.

If long games feel like they're going on to long, then again, that is a mistake by the developer. (or you have the worst attention span ever, which there's nothing wrong with. but that would make this entire discussion pointless anyway.) he/she should've kept it interesting. and a game can easily be long and have variety.

You make it sound so easy. Keeping a 20 hours game interesting every second isnt easy. What is a game that you think does this well for 20+ hours?

2000 is larger than 20 so it can be included in 20+.
