Serious Sam has unique gameplay in the sense of it being the only game that has you running backwards for 90% of the game. that you don't like that ok, but absolutely nothing in that gameplay is flawed. especially considering how crazily well it's balanced for every difficulty setting. there's literally a perfect setting for each kind of player.
although I'm not 100% counting Serious Sam 3 as that, because it had quite a lot of the linear small corridor forward pushing that I so detest in modern games.
where as Spec Ops in terms of gameplay is a generic 3rd person shooter, which has been done way better by many companies before (nope, not talking about the storyline or anything. just gameplay perspective)
tell me this, if you could have spec ops, being 5 times longer. while still keeping the same feel you've had throughout the entire game like what you felt about the game like it is now. would you not want it?
because the only thing to blame for that not being there, is that the developers didn't have enough creativity/imagination/material to do that. while it would've been technically easily possible.
