Harmonix specifically saying they have plans for the next three months (in the past they've said six) and that they would tell us more about the future of DLC towards the end of those three months. Henry's tone was somewhat pessimistic in the same thread and he said something along the lines of "I'm sorry, it is not a very good day for Rock Band announcements". DLC is still coming to an end. This pack probably began its planning stage before Harmonix knew that.

Edit P.S.: Think of it this way, it was a miracle we were able to get Aerosmith before this ship sank.

as i've said in various other threads, the DLC schedule is planned 3 months.

If you read the blog post about how getting the DLC works, you'll see that the first 3 months of those 6 months are licensing+ charting+ other stuff like that.

you don't plan when to release songs exactly until they're finished, so 3 months can be seen as normal

Then, why, in the past, has Harmonix insisted they had the next six months of DLC planned? In the past, Harmonix would fiercely oppose those who claimed DLC was coming to an end. This time, all we got was an apology and a "we'll talk about it".

Buzzkill! But yeah, I agree completely with your interpretation. This pack does NOT mean "Rock Band is back and better than ever!". It means we end with a bang and not a whimper, and that's worthy of some excitement right there. But not TOO much excitement ... there is no chance that the remaining new packs will be remotely as good as this one. None!

But we got this one, so HOORAY

I just spat edamame all over my work computer keyboard. Wow! Can't wait to Run-DMC-bomb the vocals with an extra mic.

This is a pleasant surprise. Maybe there is hope for Van Halen or Van Hagar tracks?

I would get wary when people kept reporting that "we have DLC for at least another 6 months" when it had been several months since any official word had dropped about how much they had in the pipeline. For years, they had 6 months ready ... but then, as of a month ago, they had 3 months ready.

And by now, they have two months left. They promised to give us an indication that the end was coming. That indication has been given.

    A few quick notes:

The EU pack pricing was a little off in the initial announcement. The EU pricing conversion matrix has changed twice in the last year so there was a bit of a mix up in the pack price listed. That's been corrected now, and the pack is listed at the correct (cheaper!) price of £6.49 UK and €7.99 EU. Thanks to Jibs for the catch.

We're getting lots of questions about where the live version of Dream On is from, but we don't have a lot of info. The label wasn't able to provide us with any album or date specifics so it's being listed as a version "from the vault". If you're looking to check out the full version of the tracks we're releasing, you can tune in to the livestream on Monday at 6pm ET. Finally, in just a few minutes we're kicking off an Aerosmith giveaway, including free DLC and some excellent albums and swag from the band. Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook accounts for a chance to pick this pack up for free!
