I think you're polling a group that's half Internet music snobs, and the other half Internet music snobs that understand what mainstream appeal is.

Yea but he is still right...it is better than nothing

Ask a casual player to Name a KISS, FNM, or B-52 song . . . Betcha the DLC songs will not be mentioned too often

Which, I might add, is what everyone is up in arms about.

Rock Band is one of the best games that I have ever played but the DLC is some of the worst. I used to be excited every Monday to see what I was going to download on Thursday. Thanks to the leaked info for March, I can stop looking because there is pretty much nothing out there. Seriously, a NIN pack and no HEAD LIKE A HOLE or CLOSER. Good Job!

Oh well, more time for COD4.

From HMX: "While the schedule released by OXM includes a variety of tracks that are currently being worked on by our development team, we need to remind everyone that our internal list can and will change (daily even) until the songs are certed and approved by Sony and Microsoft. Unless you hear it here from a member of the HMX community team (myself, Sean, HMXJohnD), assume that things are unconfirmed rumors."

Its very possible that the reactions heard from the community concerning this OXM article may effect that internal list (which is possibly already completely different from the OXM article). I see you have recently joined. Welcome to the community and I hope you'll stick around and continue to post. Though some may consider your post harsh, HMX is always on these boards listening in and they appreciate all the feedback they get :)

    Uh, you don't read.

Plenty of GH3 people dissappointed with their purchase.

RB DLC outselling GH3 DLC 2:1 and that's that GH3 has free DLC.

GH3 is Kleenex, Rock Band seems to be more like iPhone, more expensive, but mroe desired.

I bought this game for my little brother and saw how fun it was so now I probably play it more than him. But the majority of the Guitar Hero fans/players and now the ones who play Rock Band are younger. I would guess the average age is 14-17 years old.

With that said, there are waaaaaaaaaayyyy too many old songs. If you are going to keep doing the updates, then you need to put out AT LEAST 1 current day song every week. It just makes sense.

Also, if you've sold 2.5 millions songs of DLC already, why the hell aren't you dropping like 10-15 songs a week. You would make $100 million dollars by the end of 2008 EASILY. You make them, we will buy them, the end. This 3 a week thing is stupid; especially when you have a week like this one where I WANT to spend money on new songs but there isn't anything good that's coming out.

Don't you want my money? Sometimes it seems like you don't....just my two cents, carry on everyone!:mad::rolleyes:

Wow, you are wrong. As someone else said...the average gamer is 29. The largest demographic for games is 25-35 I believe. Especially for a game like this that is more of a "get together game". I'm the among the youngest in my group at work(25) and I've had 3 seperate co-worker Rock Band parties each with return players.

Also, who do you think has more money to d/l the songs? A 16yo kid or me, a 25yo DINK(Dual Income No Kids)? I think the B52's song will be great...they totally remind me of the roller skating rink in middle school. This will be an awesome party song, which is what should help make up Rock Band's(a party game) library.

I'm not a big fan of the other two songs, but two of my coworkers actually had this on there mp3 playlists at the time of the announcement...so I'll certainly get them for parties.

I understand that completely, they are not my first choice songs...

Please re-read my previous posts on that matter though, and what HMX has posted in the past, and just the nature of the music industry. There are record labels/artists to get past.. everyone ignores that and keeps going:

    - WelL Id ont recoGniz3 thees sungs!

Not every week you're going to get "Limelight" or "My Sharona" though, even that Metallica pack which is their best seller as a pack, I think if you asked the most casual fans out there to pick their favorite Metallica songs "Enter Sandman" and probably a couple of their more chilled out songs from the Black album. They can easily check billboard charts and see what was the most popular... and just churn those out but again.. record labels/record companies/artists.

The only thing I will say about this is that some artists are totally on board... Look at Metallica, Enter Sandman is on the main setlist, with a metallica pack already out, One is announced, so is an unnamed Metalliac album... AND probably when their latest songs are ready it will debut on RB as well. Personally I've grown to detest Metallica but I have newfound appreciation for their apparent approval of RB... perhaps as RB's popularity grows you'll see more artists follow the path QoTSA and Metallica have apparently taken.
