    Sorry guys (forum attack)
Hey folks. I am deeply sorry for the prolonged exposure to this morning's attack. Our first report came in at 7:17AM EST this morning, which, of course, we weren't able to respond to (until roughly 10AM EST) since we don't have round the clock Harmonix coverage.

We have disabled HTML (indefinitely) in all forums+subforums, which should prevent any future attacks from getting so quickly out of hand. Thanks to those who reported the threads, and I would like to apologize again for the prolonged exposure some of you experienced earlier this morning.

Glad to see its stopped, although I didn't personally have to deal with any exposure. No more youtube vids in threads is the only downside, but it's worth it to be safe. Thanks.

Thanks for getting on top of it. A shame these guys have to ruin it for everyone else, but if that's what needs to be done then so be it.

Oh, in response to the "We also have to be awake to do these things" comment in the other thread... does that mean that Apples and Magnet do *not* have the power to ban individuals, close registrations, or turn off HTML? Because apparently they were around the forums stemming the tide a little by deleting a lot of the posts.

It may not be a bad idea to grant more power to the community mod team if they're going to be available at times the HMX officials are not.

yeah, the standard mods are actually pretty limited in their power, mostly moving/deleting stuff

the html ban won't stop us embedding videos will it?

Correct, and it's also something we've been discussing over the last few weeks.

Also, yes, this will disable video embedding for now.

Hey Johnlok now Rock Band is launched in Europe would it not make sense to have some European mods because due to the time difference it will mean that although you won't have 24 hour a day moderation more of the day will be covered
