I had my friends over on Sunday for our usual RB get together (every Sunday we play since RB was originally released). My main instrument is drums (since I play them in real life), but we usually alternate at some point since drumming for too long can be exhausting and hard on my back.

So...my victory for the week was playing our entire gaming session on drums, which turned out to be about 5 hours of almost non-stop drumming. I was having a ton of fun...though my back thanked me for it later! :)

My victory this week was finally getting the RB3 platinum and also getting passed the completionists goal level. Have been slowly working on these for ages!

^ Congrats OV, and I'm jealous.

My victory for the week is having finally turned a corner on my expert drum playing. I pretty much play at that level most of the time now. Mind you, it's a messy corner and I sometimes I hit a wall,...but not as often, and I'm seeing more and more progress.

I'm a sloppy drummer at best, but I love the fact that my family and friends who don't play drums think I'm decent. LoL. Gotta love this game :)

That's awesome. And for me that feels REALLY rewarding.

My RB victory for the week: the wife and I were pre-approved for a mortgage yesterday. So we get to go house shopping! One factor will be friendliness to hosting Rock Band gatherings of 4-12 people. Our current apartment is 500-600 square feet so it's a massive challenge to host, to say nothing of the upstairs neighbor who isn't always the most reasonable. So yeah, that's a win.

My victory for the week is like, the best day ever! My brother went out and bought me a real accoustic set of drums. He surprised me with them yesterday. He came to the house and handed me a new set of drum sticks...said "here...can you use these?" I smiled and said of coarse. Then he went to his truck and brought in a cymbal...and said " can you use this...I was at the swap meet".. so I said "..I hope to have a real set one day so thanks". Then he went back to his truck and started unloading an entire set, piece by piece. My whole family showed up. (I was speechless! and thats saying a lot for me) lol.

Anyway, I have one brother who plays on real guitar with me on rock band, and he got together with my other brother who had the bucks...and together they did this amazing thing for me.

Now..I am so not worthy of a real set, because I basically suck even on RB and playing real drums takes an entirely different skill set. But.....I will work my butt off trying to learn, just to make my bro's proud.

Until yesterday, I had never even really touched a real set. It was fun just trying to figure out what goes where. Now I wish I had paid more attention to the drum trainer in RB. I will be going back to review, with a new sense of purpose, so I can translate my RB experience into the real thing. I will probably also spring for lessons now. I actually told myself if I ever reached expert on RB drums, I would take drum lessons, but thought, why, I'll never own real drums. haha...Never say never! Wish me luck. I'm so gonna need it. :)

Straight up awesomesauce. That's just too cool. Congrats and please keep (at least me) posted on your progress!

We're buying a house and one of my goals is to get a real kit, too. I wanna be Dave frickin' Grohl: sing, drum, guitar, bass, everything.

I FC'd the entire Backspacer album on expert guitar today. Granted, it's relatively easy all around, but just taking a look at the songs on the song select screen and seeing all gold stars there with 100% next to them... feels good, man.

Serious congrats to you sonicnerd...way cool on your accomplishment!

And thanks STM and N_T, for the good wishes. You'll hear about my big adventures in drumming for sure as I progress. I'm trying to figure out how to re-configure my bedroom into a kind of studio now. I need a smaller bed. lol. With all my RB equipment, I want everything where I can use it, anytime.
(kind of like the Journey song..ha) The keys, the squier, the drums...it's a nice problem to have. Jees the lengths we go to because of a little game called RB. Anyway, thanks again guys. And thx HMX.
