Question to any of you drummers out there. I'm looking to purchase a used set (keep in mind that I'm a total drumming beginner.) I found one on Craigslist that looks like it suits my needs; I can get new heads later on. I saw pictures, it looks like it's in good condition and works fine. The seller is out of town and moved it in with his parents in the mean time, so they'd be the ones making the transaction. The problem is that his parents live in a more public area so I wouldn't be able to test the set out before making a purchase.
Since I'm not too well-versed in the ways of drums, would I be able to tell if the kit is in good condition just by looking and not by testing it out? I don't really want to have my first used kit be a bad one, yet it looks like a perfectly fine kit...
RQ: Why don't you guys talk about Air more? They rule balls.
