Well "Halo" takes place a good 450 years after PD.

Speaking of older games, has anyone played the Thief series? I've heard they're great. I love both major stealth series I've played (Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell)

The Thief games were pretty good stealth-based games... never really got into them much myself because stealth never really was my thing, but they did a lot of things very early on that many games (in particular Splinter Cell) didn't figure out until years later.

Well, if you want to get technical, you were correct in saying that The Fall of the House of Usher is probably his most famous book, because The Raven is poetry.

I remember reading it in 8th grade and thinking it was pretty unsettling, though the piece he did about the Inquisitions was just pure insanity.

This would fit better in the old Stupid Things thread, but w/e

Apparently Why? sounds generic, and don't sound original whatsoever.

Now, I don't have a problem with people saying they don't like Why?, I would totally understand why someone wouldn't like them. But to call them generic? Bleh.

Depends on how you define straight edge. I would technically be straight edge, since I don't drink or smoke, but at the same time I have no problem with others who do it, and can even see merits for doing it (for me personally, the faults outweigh those). So in that way, I don't consider myself straight edge.

Has anyone read The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe? While very wordy, it's a very creepy story.

It's a very cool story but in terms of stuff I read by Poe my favorite has been The Masque of the Red Death.

Huh. I remember in both Grapes of Wrath and If Mice and Men that Steinbeck used a ****load of descriptions...

Loved OF Mice and Men though....Grapes of Wrath not so much.
