RO: the latest South Park episode was awesome
Oh man, after having to hear half of Lil Wayne's most recent CD (due to certain circumstances I ended up in a car my sister was driving), I can safely say that I'm glad I never gave him a chance before and I have lost tons of respect for most of my peers. "Gonorrhea" was astoundingly bad. I may need therapy.
/captain obvious
I missed them, I'll definitely need to watch those.
RO: While Great Expectations isn't boring per se, it definitely isn't a fast read. Feel like it could take me a long time to finish, since it's not exactly a book that leaves you on the edge of your seat, at least not in the first hundred pages. I think I might start reading Brave New World simultaneously, since I picked that one up a few days ago... inspired by a conversation here. It was between that and Nineteen-Eighty Four, and I saw Brave New World first.
Both BNW or 1984 would be awesome choices, cant go wrong.
Get 1984 after you're finished with BNW
If you aren't into gradually unfolding books it may seem a bit dull -- or maybe it does follow the Great British tradition of "a beginning, a muddle and an end".
However the notion of a working-class kid inheriting property and wealth (something still relatively, unheard of now let alone a time when Marx was still struggling to grow a whispy moustache) and his reaction to being thrust into bourgeois company kept me interested during the 'muddle'.
Got a cold, wanna die real bad before throat swells up.
once had swimmer's ear. that was a real *****
the worst was having 3 kidney stones as a kid. those things are excruciating.
finally, can't wait for Oct 25th (Warpaint LP) and 26th (the obvious)
