Is the album of the year usually this awful? I don't keep up.
the whole Kanye thing is very divided, I personally enjoy it, but it's not my favorite of the year
with that being said, there's no denying that either A) we're seeing just how much influence music critics have on the population B) a true landmark album that probably will change how pop music is made and created in the future or C) just a bunch a trolls (highly doubtful)
but really the only people who dislike Kanye's new album (from what I've seen) is people who think he's a douchebag (reasonable), people who hate mainstream, and the rational people who just don't understand the appeal of it.
the first two, really shouldn't count but are the majority of the "haters" while there's no denying that people will always be like this, if someone like DOOM released this... the amount of love would be tenfold.
when I was prepping my list for the year, I noticed a lot of albums that really didn't "stick" with me, as well as a bunch that where forgettable after first listen. Kanye's album provides a fresh break from the pop music that he changed with Graduation (start of the autotune craze).
while I don't think it deserves 10's across the board it's at least a high 9
a lot of this hype is group mentality as well, suddenly places like 4chan, and HRO are accepting pop music, people don't like being left behind.

RO1: Wow, the forums are incredibly screwy. Couldn't log in all day.
RO2: John Lennon content is great on keys. Crippled Inside is one of the most fun songs in the game, as is Oh Yoko!.
RO3: Gotta love the "**** yeah America, **** everybody else" mentality. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I ended up reading some of the the comments on Five Finger Death Punch's version of Bad Company. "Anyone who dislikes this song is unAmerican!!!". Uh, the internet is just American now?
Standard tough guy pro-military comment.
Instant:That cover sucked but I've heard worst comments around that line for much worst songs.
