It's not a movie I can see wanting to watch ever again, and it was strangely optimistic for a ghost story (although there's that Kubrick point of view that all ghost stories are optimistic because they're about life after death, but eh), but it was still good enough to leave me flabbergasted that the same guy could make "The Last Airbender".

It really bored me. I've given it more than a fair amount of effort... just can't get into it.

Oh man, you need to give the Last Airbender a whirl XD. It's hilariously overdone special effects were the only thing keeping me awake. I had never seen the series, so I could not follow the plot at all. Really a problem, because you can't possibly follow it without having seen the series, and if you have seen the series, you'll apparently hate it (my brother despised the movie, and he's certainly no critic).

Haha. I recently watched Deadline. I would not recommended it to anyone. =D

Yeah, after his first two were fellated by the press, he thought twist endings were necessary for just about every movie.

I don't think that's the case with Airbender though, I know the main gripes were that it was just awful and it really strayed from the source material.

I don't remember any insane twist in Airbender, so I think that one was just a bad movie. Of course, about half way through the movie, when I realized I had no hope of following a single bit, I started reading and mostly ignoring it, but I did look up occasionally at the action scenes that came out of nowhere.
