Hey HF, just checked out this week's setlist. Very good one. I always thought that Nirvana had better influences than their own music, so I really got a kick out of that.

Do you think you could do something like that for Metallica in the near future? I guess it'd kind of be a repeat of when you did the all metal show, but I hold them in similar regards.

    That's pretty cool.

I have a ton of friends going to that show.

And HF, you should have played Chokebore. Kurt namedropped that band whenever he could and they toured with Nirvana, IIRC.

I actually had Chokebore on my original setlist (with Ghosts, & The Swing of Things), but they got scrapped for time, unfortunately. That's what happens when you're hitting the end of your show and realize you're about to go over into the next time slot. Even worse, since it's our live night and I don't like cutting into the band's time.

As for Metallica, I don't think I'll get around to them on account of the fact that I have a new outlet for metal with the new show. They would definitely be great for that, though.

Oh yeah, that show sounds great.

Could you share the setlist for that one as well?

I'm planning on doing setlists for that one, too, but I got lazy for the first show and didn't post it's setlist, haha. I can put it up, too, though you may have to wait on it, since I have a lot of work I need to finish today (typically, my week's workload gets dumped onto thursdays).

The setlisting on that show isn't going to be nearly as strict (I set rules for myself on NRCM, such as not playing the same band twice in the same set, unless the theme permits it and not playing bands two weeks in a row with the exceptions of Frank Zappa and new albums). Plus, I've got my friend working with me on it, so he's got some say in what goes on. It's pretty fun, though. On the premier, I was operating on 3 hours of sleep and pure adrenaline, haha.

No, three sessions of brutality was too much and I was replaced by some poptronica goober.
The guy who had me on said they had too few slots from non-students, but I think it was probably jealousy and lust, like always.

The most probable cause, yeah. I still wish my college let students run some graveyard shift shows, but oh well. It's a fairly big radio station.
