    It has long since been deleted, unless you're talking about the second one.

Either with Portnoy gone the rest of the band is more willing to work with his style or he's working more with the rest of the band, the difference is irrelevant. More Myung writing is good.

    I'm definietly happy that Myung is going to be writing more and I bet it will be good. But I don't know if Portnoy being gone has really anything to do with it. I do miss him though. He's an amazing drummer, and had been with Dream Theater since the beginning. Did he ever give a clear reason why he left? I always thought it was some sort of mid-life crisis or something. I'm still optimistic about the new album. Dream Theater is one of my favorite bands and I will be excited about any new material from them.

    Portnoy left because he wanted to take a break from Dream Theater, thinking that the band's approach was starting to get stale and repetitive, and the rest of the band wanted to start recording right away. He apparently decided to try to come back to DT, but by the time he inquired into it they had already selected Mike Mangini (who had, in order to work on the new album, quit his job as a percussion instructor at the Berklee School of Music). Then again, Mangini is very similar stylistically and Portnoy has plenty of side projects he's working on... I think, for the time being, it's a win-win.

    Yeah I remember when he tired to come back. I was sad when they said no ;_;

    And I've heard very good things about Mangini so I think he will be a good replacement.

    That's my point, the chances someone has a link to it are slim to none since it was deleted. Who knows though, maybe someone does have it.

    Eh, not really. Mangini's much more tasteful and is a lot more interesting to listen to and has a FAR better grasp of odd-time, polyrhythms, and such.
