I know this is early, but if I have to hear that Mannheim Steamroller version of Deck The Halls on the radio this holiday season more than once, I will shoot myself. (Not literally, though I will go insane.)

Animal Farm...I last read it in...fifth? grade. I definitely was not old enough to appreciate or understand it.

    Maybe some day.

I think that one needs to have a full understanding (or at least, more of an understanding than any 5th-grader I've ever met) of the Russian Revolution of October 1917 and the later rise to power of Stalin to really appreciate Animal Farm.

    I think Orwell's just a great writer all-around, though.

I just became the first person to scrobble this band to last.fm.

    I feel cool.

Just got back from Enslaved/Alcest about an hour ago, the concert was pretty good, as was the venue.

I'll check those out tomorrow... always enjoy putting myself through the crap you dig up :)

RO: It's so easy to find yourself replaying a Big Star song multiple times. I just put September Gurls on a loop, before I knew it it was nearly 10 plays...

Yeah, it would be good to see those hit PS3 as well. I bought a bunch of RBN stuff after browsing the store for a bit (being able to preview stuff helps a bit, or I'll just check YouTube to see the full charts if the song interests me enough) over the past week, but the 2 Emperor songs are my next target among others.
