RO: The new Silversun Pickups song is very different from any of their previous ones. I still really like it, though.

Sorry to say but it sounds like they took a step back.

I liked what they did with Swoon. It wasn't quite hard rock, wasn't quite shoegaze, wasn't quite dream pop, like a transcendental mix of the best elements of the three and it really brings the album out.

This sounds like it's a lot more mimicking every dream pop band in existence. I sincerely hope this is just a case where the singles are the worst, I will still get this album even if my anticipations are now reduced.

Carnavas is probably my favorite album by them. I think the rest of the album will probably have more conventional SSPU songs, tbh.

I enjoy a handful of their songs discovered through the various community setlists over the years, but not quite enough to check out any of their albums. Not a bad band at all from what I've heard, though.

There's a Pacific clam chowder? I was only aware of New England and Manhattan, but I'm no expert on clam chowder.

Deciding not to do one is generally a bad idea.

I thoroughly enjoyed the new SSPU track. Plus, I'm not worried about the new album. They've done tracks before that have kind of hinted at one like Bloody Mary.
